Scholarship Description
1. A full-time student and major in metallurgy, metallurgical engineering or materials science. Other majors will be considered when application is accompanied by letter from academic advisor on official letterhead regarding program’s preparation for advancement of steel production, steel application or the use of steel in material design. 2. Applicants should have a genuine interest in a career in ferrous-related industries as demonstrated by internship, co-op or related experiences and/or demonstrable plans to pursue such experience during college. 3. Junior and senior applicants should have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale within declared major. Undeclared students should have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. 4. Applicants should be unquestionably high moral character and demonstrate leadership abilities. 5. Financial need is considered but is not a major factor.
