Scholarship Description
Advanced undergraduate and graduate students in the biomedical or pre-medical sciences, medical students, postdoctoral clinical and research trainees, and junior scientists will receive first-hand experience working in Africa. Undergraduate eligibility is limited to Juniors and Seniors only. All graduate applicants must be enrolled in a continued training program. Competency in French is mandatory for a clinical rotation. Research experience is preferred but not required for research trainees. All students must be U.S. citizens, enrolled in school, be in good standing both at the time of application and when the traineeship begins and should have a GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0=A) to be considered for the program. Senior undergraduate applicants must provide evidence of continuing studies beyond college. Faculty members and post-doctoral trainees must hold full-time appointments. Student trainees are selected on the basis of their applications, transcripts, and recommendations.
