Scholarship Description
For full-time graduate study leading to a Master’s degree in a program designed for the preparation of classroom teachers of persons with mental retardation. The exact amount of the grant to an individual will be determined by the educational costs at the university the student chooses to attend. The maximum amount of the grant is $2,000 payable to the university in amounts not to exceed $500 per semester, renewable each semester of the program to a maximum of four semesters, upon evidence of satisfactory performance and subject to the discretion of the Committee on Fellowships. The applicant must be a member of the Knights of Columbus in good standing or the wife, son or daughter of such a member or deceased member. Applicants must have a good undergraduate record and give evidence of interest in, and aptitude for, work with persons with mental retardation. Special consideration will be given to applicants who select a Catholic graduate school.
