Scholarship Description
* College-bound high school seniors or recent high school graduates now planning to begin college may apply. * Applicants must be legally blind, registered with their State Commission for the Blind and U.S. citizens. Awards are based on scholastic and other achievements. Candidates are not required to demonstrate financial need. * Applicants must reside and attend school in the Northeast (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New England states.) * Candidates are judged by a committee, consisting of representatives from the academic and business communities along with members of the Lighthouse Women’s Committee. * Winning candidates must show evidence of enrollment ar acceptance in an appropriate degree or certificate program for the following academic year before receiving the award. *Previous winners (in any category) of the Lighthouse Career Incentive Awards are ineligible, as are current Lighthouse employees and members of their immediate families.
