Scholarship Description
For students with a demonstrated interest in public policy and public service; JFEW provides tuition assistance and summer internship stipend to female participants, as well as special programming to enhance professional development (based at Roosevelt House)
Eligibility:
JFEW works with its grantee partners to identify and support women who meet these criteria:
Full-time enrollment in a degree-granting program
Financial need. Demonstrated financial need is a prerequisite for all JFEW awards
Academic Achievement. Students must also demonstrate merit with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
Permanent residence in New York City or within a 50-mile radius. In determining awards, preference is for candidates who are from New York City, who have a strong connection to the community, and who are likely to stay and contribute to life here
US Citizenship, Permanent Residence or Deferred Action Status. All JFEW grantees must be U.S. citizens or the equivalent, or have employment authorization under deferred action status. Students who are in the U.S. legally, but who are not citizens, permanent residents or the equivalent, are not eligible for JFEW awards
