Scholarship Description
1. Direct descendants (children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) of members of the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. in good standing, or of deceased members who were in good standing at time of death, shall be eligible to compete scholastically for the National Educational Grant. 2. If the JWV member is deceased, and you do not know what post he/she belonged to, call your Department Commander for assistance in locating the Post; however, many Posts do not keep records of past members. National Headquarters does not have records of individual Posts or department members. It is the applicant’s responsibility to obtain this information. 3. Applicant must be a high school senior. 4. Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited four-year college or university or a three-year hospital school of nursing, as members of the freshman class entering in the fall semester. 5. Students must be in the upper 25% of their class. 6. A student’s extracurricular activities at school, as well as in the Jewish community and in the community at large are given strong consideration.
