Scholarship Description
Students applying for the TELACU scholarship must meet very specific criteria. First, and foremost, applicants for all scholarships must be permanent residents of East Los Angeles, the city of Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Huntington Park, Montebello, Monterey Park or South Gate (no exceptions). In addition, the TELACU scholarship is only available to students who will be attending one of the following 18 participating colleges and universities on a full-time basis: Chapman University, East Los Angeles College, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal Poly Pomona, UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, Azusa Pacific University, Loyola Marymount University, Mount St. Mary’s College, Occidental College, Pepperdine University, University of La Verne, University of Southern California, Whittier College. The TELACU Education Foundatoin targets low-income, first generation college students who are U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students may apply.
