Scholarship Description
The Dallas Mavericks Foundation will award a $2,000 Sports Broadcast Journalism Scholarship in memory of Mark Holtz, the Mavericks first radio broadcaster. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is pursuing a career in Sports Broadcast Journalism (radio or television).
To qualify you must:
be a high school senior who lives within a 75-mile radius of Dallas.
must begin college during summer or fall.

Please complete the official Mark Holtz Memorial Sports Broadcast Journalism Scholarship entry form and enclose a copy
of your high school transcript through the junior year (SAT or ACT scores must be included in order to be considered), a letter
of recommendation from a faculty member at your school, and a typed essay of fewer than 500 words titled “Why I want a
career in Sports Broadcast Journalism.”
Optional: audio or video broadcast performance tapes
be planning on pursuing a career in Sports Broadcast Journalism.
This scholarship may be used at any accredited four-year college or two-year community or junior college.
