Scholarship Description
The Joint CAS/SOA Minority Scholarship Program is available to the following groups which are under-represented in the actuarial profession: African Americans, Hispanics, and Native North Americans. All applicants MUST be either a U.S. citizen or have a permanent resident visa. A scholarship applicant should have taken at least one of the following: either a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the ACT Assessment. Applicants must be admitted to a college or university offering either a program in Actuarial Science or courses that will serve to prepare the student for an actuarial career. All applicants must have demonstrated mathematical ability and evidence of some understanding of the actuarial field.
