Scholarship Description
A. Scholarship applicants must be full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology at one of the following Georgia institutions: Georgia Institute of Technology-Atlanta, Georgia Southern College-Statesboro, or Southern College of Technology-Marietta. B. Scholarship applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours and be seeking a career in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology. C. Scholarship applicants must possess an overall minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. D. Students may submit a scholarship application in succeeding years. E. Need is not a consideration in awarding scholarships except when two or more applicants have equal qualifications. Additionally, the following items apply to each and every scholarship/fellowship program and are used by the review committee for evaluation: 1. Students from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology/Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (ABET/CEAB) accredited program in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or specifically stated programs are ordinarily given preference over those from 1) non-accredited programs or 2) those from other disciplines. 2. Students enrolled in industrial technology, industrial technical education, engineering management, manufacturing management, or who are in technician or machine operator programs are virtually always rejected unless stated in the individual announcement.
