Scholarship Description
1. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following fields: a. Engineering b. Chemistry c. Physics d. Mathematical Sciences 2. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and be applying to or accepted at an accredited college (excluding proprietary schools) in the United States. 3. NAACP membership and participation is highly desirable. 4. Undergraduate applicant must be a full-time student. If a student drops below the required full-time status, the Scholarship Selection Committee will adjust the grant received to 50% of the award allocated for that semester. Graduate applicant may be a full or part-time student. 5. Applicant must possess a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 (C+) on a 4.0 system. 6. Graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students must possess a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 system, or a B average on a 4.0 system. 7. Applicant must demonstrate financial need as based on the following scale: 8. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committee, NAACP Scholarship Selection Commitee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity, are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship.
