Scholarship Description
Awarded to a full-time post-secondary student who is legally blind and who presents evidence of economic need. To be eligible, the applicant must reside in the United States but need not be a citizen of the United States. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the New York City metropolitan area and new immigrants to the United States. Applicants must submit: 1. Evidence of legal blindness 2. Official transcript(s) of grades 3. Proof of acceptance into a full-time post-secondary program 4. Evidence of economic need 5. Three letters of recommendation 6. Proof of residency (e.g., telephone bill, lease, utility bill) 7. A Typewritten statement of three double-spaced pages describing educational and personal goals, work experience, extracurricular activities, and how scholarship monies will be used. New immigrants, please include a description of your country of origin and the reason for coming to the United States.
