Scholarship Description
Non-traditional animal species are becoming more popular as pets throughout the world. There is a greater need for an understanding of the husbandry and health care of these exotic pets.
The field of zoo and wildlife medicine is seeing increased interest as conservation and rehabilitation efforts continue to grow. These animals need specialized care from trained professionals. Oxbow understands the need for well-trained and prepared veterinarians in these exciting fields within veterinary medicine.
Oxbow’s Veterinary Medicine Scholarship is for students currently enrolled in a veterinary school and demonstrate
an interest in small and exotic animal medicine.
To Qualify:
• Complete the application available online at www.oxbowanimalhealth.com
• Submit a resume describing activities and job history
• Provide two letters of reference
• Provide proof of full-time enrollment in a college or university
• Submit a 300-500 word essay on one of the following topics:
1. The Future of Exotic Animal Medicine
2. The Role of Nutrition in Animal Health
3. Two of the Greatest Challenges in Exotic Animal Health
