NBCCF Rural Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The NBCC Foundation is pleased to announce the rural scholarships for students pursuing a career in professional counseling. These scholarships provide financial support to students who are currently enrolled in a master’s-level, CACREP-accredited counseling program, live in a rural area and commit to serving rural areas for a minimum of two years upon graduation.

Five scholarships in the amount of $5,000 are available.
Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be enrolled in a CACREP-accredited counseling master’s program.
Applicant must carry at least six (6) credit hours during the current semester.
Applicants must reside in a rural area as defined by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
Applicants must commit to applying for the National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential prior to graduation.
Applicants must commit to providing mental health services in a rural area for at least two years after graduation.
To check the CACREP status of a program, search the CACREP website here. Applicants may determine if they live in a qualifying area by checking the Heath Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) Web site of rural areas.
