Scholarship Description
The MISA Foundation Scholarship Fund was formed in March of 1989 by the Meat Industry Suppliers Alliance (MISA). The fund grew to include three $5000 scholarships awarded annually. In March of 2007, Siemens Corporation generously offered to contribute $5,000 towards a brand new scholarship program. The MISA Foundation agreed to match the donation with an additional $5,000 to create one $10,000 scholarship. The three $5000 scholarships are awarded to outstanding students in the meat sciences field, while the $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding undergraduate (junior/senior level) or graduate student pursuing a degree in the engineering or meat sciences fields.
