Scholarship Description
The American Public Power Association’s Demonstration of Energy-Efficient Developments (DEED) Program is the only research and development program funded by and for public power utilities. Established in 1980, DEED encourages activities that promote energy innovation, improve efficiencies and lower costs of energy to public power customers.Each year, ten $4,000 student research grants and internships are awarded to students conducting research on an energy-related project. To apply, students must meet the following three requirements: 1)Students must be studying an energy-related field, 2) must be studying at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada, 3) must be sponsored by a DEED member utility.Visit DEED’s website to find a sponsor, formulate a proposal, and apply to the program for either the February 15 or August 15 deadline.
