Scholarship Description
The Charles and Janice Fox Scholarship was established by their children in 2005. Chares Fox, Sr., is an Ouimet Scholarship Alumnus, former President and longtime Trustee. He was president of the Ouimet Fund when the original Ouimet Golf House project was begun in the mid-seventies and was in charge of the fundraising program. He has also assisted The Fund in several other projects and was presented The Fund’s Distinguished Service Award in 2000. Janice Fox has also assisted The Fund in many volunteer efforts. They are members of Charles River Country Club. The Fox Award is for an Ouimet Scholarwho has performed exemplary community service.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are “need-based” and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.
