Scholarship Description

Beneficiary: College and University Students.Grant Type: Resources and EquipmentCreated in memory of an NEA-Retired Vice President and Advisory Council member, this NEA Retired Program award offers support for NEA Student members who need help completing their degree in education by offsetting a portion of their tuition. # Student must be a member of the NEA Student Program. Questions about the Student program may be directed to the Student Program at (202) 822-7132.# List the NEA Student Program activities in which you participate at the local, state, and national level (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit a brief paragraph demonstrating financial need and how this scholarship will help complete one’s degree in education (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit an essay of up to 200 words describing their NEA Student Program activities on the local, state and/or national level (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately).# Submit a copy of the most recent transcript with evidence of carrying a 2.5 or better grade point average (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit separately or have your school submit it separately).# Complete the application and submit it with two letters of recommendations: one from a faculty member or NEA Student Program advisor and one from a non-relative (to be included with your complete submission—do not submit this separately or have the letters of recommendation mailed separately by the faculty member, program advisor, or non-relative).
