Scholarship Description
This scholarship honors the memory of Courtland P. Paul, FASLA (1927-2003) and his lifelong commitment to the landscape architecture profession. A native Californian, he became one of the state’s first licensed landscape architects in 1954. Mr. Paul and Peridian International, the landscape architecture firm he founded over fifty years ago, were well known for community design and master planning, and for the golf courses, hotels, and theme parks they created in Southern California and throughout the world.Eligible applicants include United States citizens who are undergraduate students in the final two years of study in Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board accredited schools. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a minimum grade point average of “C.“In addition to the General Submission Guidelines this fellowship requires the following: * A 500-word maximum essay describing the applicant’s aspirations, ability to surmount obstacles, high level of drive, and need for financial assistance. * Financial Information Form * Two letters of recommendation from current professors familiar with the applicant’s character and goals in pursuing an education in landscape architecture. * Note: This award must be used only for tuition and/or books within the school year of the award.
