Editorial Internship

Scholarship Description

Interns work primarily with the Editorial & Youth Departments as pertains to the publishing and distribution of books, News Notes, and newspaper columns. Candidates have the opportunity to learn all aspects of communications and publishing in a hands-on, friendly atmosphere. This includes how material is created, printed, publicized and distributed. Duties include copyediting, fact checking, research and writing short pieces. Depending on the student’s writing ability, there may be the opportunity to have his or her work published by The Christophers. Other general office duties include filing, photocopying and data entry. Internship must be performed for course credit.QualificationsApplicant should be a currently enrolled sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate with a G.P.A of 2.5 or better. A liberal arts background with an interest in communications, publishing or the operations of nonprofit organizations is preferable. Applicants should be highly motivated with above-average writing ability. Writing samples will be requested. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Word are required.
