Scholarship Description
STEP #1: Make sure you are qualified for this scholarship. Please read through the qualifications below. If you don’t meet ALL of these qualifications you are not eligible to apply.To be eligible to apply, you must:· Be a citizen or permanent resident* of the United States of America· Be an undergraduate student who is currently enrolled full-time in an accredited culinary school, college, or university· Demonstrate a commitment to Italian Viticulture· Have at least two years of culinary experience and/or viticulture training, working directly with a chef in the preparationof food or with a sommelier. This experience must be supported by two letters of recommendation by culinary professional who can attest to your talent, interest and experience.STEP #2: Complete the required essay for the Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani/Giacomo Bologna ScholarshipThis essay is required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application and other required documents as outlined in these instructions. The essay must be typed, double-spaced and have a maximum of 750 words. Please put your name at the top of each page of your essay. Your essay must address each item in the essay question.Essay Question:Item 1: How do you feel this program will enhance your current knowledge of Italian food, wine, and overall gastronomicculture?Item 2: In your opinion, what is the perception of Italian cuisine in the U.S.?
