Al Schuman Ecolab Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Scholarship Description

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and the Al Schuman Ecolab Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships ranging from $3,500 to $7,500 to college students who are enrolled in a foodservice related program at a select set of colleges.This scholarship is targeted toward students who demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit through a written essay. Chosenrecipients must be highly ambitious, dedicated, innovative, and creative. The recipients must not only have a vision butthe skills and plans to realize their vision.To be eligible to apply, you must:· Be a citizen or permanent resident* of the United States of America· Be accepted or enrolled in one of the following colleges (see linked colleges field)· Have completed at least one grading term of your college or post-secondary program· Be enrolled for two consecutive terms or not entering your last semester before graduating· Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) OR a GED average standard score of 470 or higher.This essay is required as part of the scholarship application packet and must be submitted with your printed and signed application form and other required documents as outlined in the instructions. The essay must be typed, double-spaced and have a maximum of 750 words. Please put your name on the top of each page of your essay. Your essay must address each item in the essay question.An entrepreneur is usually described as someone who is highly ambitious, dedicated, innovative, creative, and refuses defeat. An entrepreneur not only has a vision but can develop a plan to realize their vision.To demonstrate your entrepreneurial spirit, write an essay addressing the following items:1. Describe either a past entrepreneurial project of any type or a future restaurant/foodservice related entrepreneurial project, such as starting a new restaurant, developing a new product or menu.2. Explain why it was/is innovative and provide an example of how thinking outside the box enhanced or will enhance your project.3. Describe how you brought or will bring your project to fruition.4. Briefly, describe your skills and how these attributes helped you or will help you carry out this project.Complete the online application form at www.nraef.org/scholarships.Complete, print and sign the online application form
