Scholarship Description
This scholarship was established by Helen Mead to benefit a student pursuing secondary education in the veterinarian medical field. Helen Mead has always had a strong love for animals and a concern for their health and welfare. She is a strong supporter of the Wisconsin Rapids Area Zoo and the South Wood County Humane Society. Eligibility: * Pursuing a career as a veterinarian or veterinary technician. * Applicant must be a resident of Adams, Portage or Wood County. * Must be accepted as a student pursuing a degree from an accredited veterinary program. * Applicant demonstrates a passion to be a veterinarian or veterinary technician and genuine love for animals through extra-curricular activities, work experience and other community activities.
