Scholarship Description
The Edward Arthur Mellinger Foundation provides loans to graduate students. Loans are available to graduate students and renewable annually until the recipient completes the degree for which the loan was originally awarded. A letter of good standing or transcript is required annually for a loan to be renewed. In making awards, the Committee gives first consideration to students who reside in Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa and attend institutions in these two states. Second consideration is given to students from the remainder of Illinois and Iowa and surrounding states, and then consideration is given to applicants from other states. The policy of annual loan renewal means that only about one-fourth of the funds disbursed by the Foundation each year is available to new applicants.
