Scholarship Description
The Academy awards a first ($5,000), second ($3,000), and third ($2,000) place in four categories (alternative, animation, documentary, and narrative) for student filmmakers who are full-time students at an accredited institution. The film must be made in the context of a teacher-student relationship within the curricular structure of the institution. Winning entries are forwarded to the Directors Guild of America Student Film Award. A compilation film of the Gold-medal Award-winning films may be requested via Scholarship Connection
