Scholarship Description
Students who have been accepted or enrolled into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.An awardee may receive up to $13,000 for this scholarship. Awardee commits to practicing direct patient care in a medically underserved area (MUA) of California for two-years.You must be both a permanent resident of California and U.S. citizen in order to apply for all programs administered by the Health Professions Education Foundation.Selection of awards is based solely on the information and documents contained in the BSNSP packet. Selection for awards is based on the following criteria: work experience, cultural and linguistic competence, career goals, community service and community background, Priority will be given to individuals whose community background and commitment indicates the likelihood of long-term employment in a qualified facility even after the service obligation has ended.
