Nursing Scholarships

Here are some of the Nursing scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Terry Linda Potter Scholarship Fund

Available to current high school graduates majoring in a health-related field at an accredited two-year or four-year college. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and scholastic ability. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a competitive process which considers financial need, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, educational goals and personal aspirations. The community foundation's Board of Trustees has final approval of scholarship recommendations made by the foundation's Scholarship Committee or the advisory committees of certain scholarship funds. Scholarship amounts vary based on annual income available from each fund.

Aurora Medical Center AMG Oshkosh Family Scholarship

Special Qualifications:• Applicant is preferred to be a part of/or have a family member that is part of the Aurora Family.Requirements:# Transcripts# ACT or SAT# ReferencesOther Requirements: • Applicant must be pursing a career in health care or a related field.Not renewable.

Brent Vroman Scholarship of Honor

Special Qualifications: • Recipient must be entering the military or a career in public service (education, firefighter, police officer, nursing, etc.).Other Requirements: • Recipient will also receive a scholarship medal of honor.

Colleen Gibbons Daugherty Nursing Scholarship

Special Qualifications: • Priority given to nursing student who faces a chronic health condition. • Second priority given to a single parent who has worked their way through school and is admitted to the School of Nursing.Requirements:# Transcripts# SAT

Katherine MacKinnon Fiss Scholarship

Special Qualifications: • Undergraduate or graduate nursing student at UW OshkoshOther Requirements: • Contact Mary Cook, UW Oshkosh College of Nursing for more information.Not renewable.

National Educational Grant

1. Direct descendants (children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren) of members of the Jewish War Veterans of the U.S.A. in good standing, or of deceased members who were in good standing at time of death, shall be eligible to compete scholastically for the National Educational Grant. 2. If the JWV member is deceased, and you do not know what post he/she belonged to, call your Department Commander for assistance in locating the Post; however, many Posts do not keep records of past members. National Headquarters does not have records of individual Posts or department members. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain this information. 3. Applicant must be a high school senior. 4. Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited four-year college or university or a three-year hospital school of nursing, as members of the freshman class entering in the fall semester. 5. Students must be in the upper 25% of their class. 6. A student's extracurricular activities at school, as well as in the Jewish community and in the community at large are given strong consideration.

Ruth Kossel Scholarshp

Irving L. Adler Scholarship

The Irving L. Adler Scholarship was established in 2007 as an 80th birthday present by friends, family and business associates of Mr. Adler. He is a founder of Adler, Blanchard and Freeman, LLP and a longtime member of Spring Valley Country Club. He had been a Ouimet Society member for many years and is the father of Scott Adler, Ouimet Fund Treasurer. The Adler Scholarship is for a Ouimet Scholar preparing for a career in education or nursing.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are "need-based" and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.

Barrett - O’Hara Family Scholarship

This award was established in 2004 and is for an Ouimet Scholar attending nursing school, intending to attend medical school,or for former Ouimet Scholars currently attending medical school.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are "need-based" and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.

NSNA Scholarship Program

All applicants must be students currently enrolled in state-approved schools of nursing or pre-nursing* in associate degree, baccalaureate, generic doctorate, and generic master's programs. High school students are not eligible. Monies are awarded in the spring to be used in the next academic year and summer school. Monies can only be used for nursing or pre-nursing in one of the above mentioned programs. No monies can be used for graduate education unless leading to a first degree in nursing. Graduating high seniors are NOT eligible. (*Pre-nursing students are students enrolled in college or university programs designed as preparation for entrance into a program leading to an associate degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree in nursing.) GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS are open to all nursing and pre-nursing students who meet the above eligiblity requirements. CAREER MOBILITY SCHOLARSHIPS are open to nursing and pre-nursing students who are registered nurses enrolled in programs leading to a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing or licensed practical/vocational nurses enrolled in a program leading to licensure as a registered nurse. Applicants must submit a copy of their license. BREAKTHROUGH TO NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ETHNIC PEOPLE OF COLOR are open to nursing or pre-nursing students who indicate on the application that they are members of one of the minority groups (Black, Native American, Spanish surname, Asian, Polynesian) SPECIALTY SCHOLARSHIPS may have additional criteria, i.e. interest in a nursing for eligiblity. All applicants will automatically be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. Selection of scholarship recipients is based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in nursing student organizations and community health activities related to health care. All factors are equally weighted. The Selection Committee is composed of nursing faculty and students from a variety of nursing programs.

Amaze Yourself Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA • Education Level: Any persons pursuing secondary education. • Majors: Any major related to healthcare or science. • Age: 17+ • You must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, at least 17 years of age, located in the United States or D.C. and on track to apply for or currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational programs located in the United States or D.C. (including accredited two and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical and trade schools). • You’ll have to identify the specific secondary education program, college or certificate/degree option you want to get into, or for which you need funds. You may be looking to enroll or already enrolled in this secondary educational program. • You must be willing to work with Landau’s Scholarship Management team throughout the application and award process.

APIASF/United Health Foundation Scholarship

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. Plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career in the health field. Scholarship recipients must be majoring in a health field to receive renewal scholarships Demonstrate the intent to work in an underserved community Preference for students fluent in an Asian or Pacific Islander language Students must reside in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, MN, NC, NM, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA or WI Preference for students who intend to transfer from a 2-year to a 4-year institution Enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year
