Nursing Scholarships

Here are some of the Nursing scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Nurse Education Tuition Assistance Scholarship

Eligibility Requirement: Applicant must have been accepted into an approved nursing program and is seeking to complete a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Applicant must agree to seek work as a nurse at the North Colorado Medical Center upon completion of degree. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.

Lily E. Widney Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Eligibility Requirement: Applicant must be working at North Colorado Medical Center and have been accepted into an approved nursing program with plans to obtain an Associate's or Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America.

NDCF/ND Nurses Association Scholarship Fund

Established in 1982 by the North Dakota Nurses Association to assist nurses with their continuing education.

Pat McGee Nursing Scholarship

Established through the Pat McGee Endowment, created by the family and friends of State Senator McGee, this $1,000 award is available to any student, traditional or non-traditional, in the 57th Senate district who intends to pursue nursing. Students must maintain at least a C average in order to be eligible for this award.

John J. Murphy Family Scholarship

Established through a grant from the Communities Foundation of Texas, this award is available to Olean area students and students whose family members are employed by or have retired from Dresser Rand in Olean . This is a $10,000 scholarship, with $2,500 awarded per year for four years. Preference will be given to applicants indicating their intention to pursue Bachelor Degrees or higher in nursing, engineering or business. Selection criteria shall include scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need as determined by the Community Foundation’s scholarship committee.

Research Fellowship Award

Award: The one-year award is for $20,000. The fellow receives up to $18,000 to cover research-related expenses. The mentor or the mentor's institution will receive a $2,000 award in the form of an unrestricted honorarium to cover the mentor's consultative or research-related expenses and/or other institutional costs.Purpose: To support short-term oncology research training and mentorship. Specific activities that are supported by this funding are listed in the application.Eligibility: Fellowships are available for both beginning and established researchers. A beginning researcher is within eight years of completing a terminal degree, or within five years of initiating independent research within a field of inquiry and has not received independent extramural funding in the area of interest. An established researcher has an established track record of independent (extramural) research funding and publications.Registered nurses with a doctoral degree and an interest in oncology are eligible to be funded to work with a senior investigator who has an existing research program relevant to oncology nursing.

ONS Foundation Master's and Post-Master's Certificate Scholarships

Qualifications: 1. The candidate must be currently enrolled in (or applying to) a masters nursing degree or post-masters certificate (CNS or NP) program at an NLN or CCNE accredited School of Nursing and enrolled in the academic year. 2. The candidate must have a current license to practice as a registered nurse and must have an interest in and commitment to oncology nursing. 3. Upon completion of degree, the nurse shall submit a summary describing the education activities in which he/she participated.NOTE: An individual can receive both the master's scholarship and post-masters certificate scholarship if they are two separate programs. Individuals can only receive the scholarship one time for each degree/certificate.

ONS Foundation Doctoral Scholarships

Purpose: To provide scholarships to registered nurses who are interested in and committed to oncology nursing to continue their education by pursuing a doctoral degree.Qualifications: 1. The candidate must be currently enrolled in (or applying to) a doctoral nursing degree or related program and enrolled in the next academic year. 2. The candidate must have a current license to practice as a registered nurse and must have an interest in and commitment to oncology nursing. 3. Candidates entering a doctoral program without a master's degree must have completed the first two years of the doctoral program curriculum to be eligible. 4. At the end of each year of scholarship participation, the nurse shall submit a summary describing the education activities in which he/she participated.NOTE: An individual cannot receive this award more than one time.

Moore Family Scholarship in Memory of Sandy Moore Pearson

In memory of Sandy Moore Pearson, this scholarship was created to provide funding for Orleans or Paoli graduates pursuing education in the field of nursing.

Terry Linda Potter Scholarship Fund

Available to current high school graduates majoring in a health-related field at an accredited two-year or four-year college. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and scholastic ability. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a competitive process which considers financial need, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, educational goals and personal aspirations. The community foundation's Board of Trustees has final approval of scholarship recommendations made by the foundation's Scholarship Committee or the advisory committees of certain scholarship funds. Scholarship amounts vary based on annual income available from each fund.

Aurora Medical Center AMG Oshkosh Family Scholarship

Special Qualifications:• Applicant is preferred to be a part of/or have a family member that is part of the Aurora Family.Requirements:# Transcripts# ACT or SAT# ReferencesOther Requirements: • Applicant must be pursing a career in health care or a related field.Not renewable.

Brent Vroman Scholarship of Honor

Special Qualifications: • Recipient must be entering the military or a career in public service (education, firefighter, police officer, nursing, etc.).Other Requirements: • Recipient will also receive a scholarship medal of honor.
