Kaiser Permanente College To Caring Program

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, residing in Northern California•Must be studying at an accredited university in Northern California.•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year.•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be a rising junior or senior in college pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing for the upcoming academic year

NPHF/Procter & Gamble Endowed Scholarship in Gastroenterology

The NPHF/Procter & Gamble Endowed Scholarship in Gastroenterology is awarded to one (1) nurse practitioner graduate student whose clinical and/or research interests are in the field of gastroenterology. One scholarship will be awarded. Amount of award is $1,000. (Endowed scholarship through an educational grant from Procter & Gamble.) Application Instructions: The forms are in a fillable PDF format. Please fill them out online. Print the application forms in their entirety. Gather the rest of the information you need to submit. Order the forms and information according to the checklist. Make 3 copies. Associates in Behavioral Health Scholarship

For LGBTQ students pursuing graduate education in psychology, psychiatry, social work, or psychiatric nursing. Preference given to individuals with demonstrated financial needs and to those entering or already enrolled in an accredited graduate program.

Janet L. Hoffman Loan Assistance Repayment Program (LARP)

Who may apply: Maryland residents who provide public service in Maryland State or local government or nonprofit agencies in Maryland to low income or underserved residents.How to apply: Complete and file a LARP General application. Third-year law students must file a Pre-Graduation Law Application and LARP General application.When to apply: LARP General applications become available in June. The application deadline is September 30. Pre-Graduation Law Applications become available in September of your third year of law school. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSYou must have earned a degree from a college in Maryland, or from any law school, or a resident teacher certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). You must be employed full-time (35+ hours per week) in state or local government or in a nonprofit organization in Maryland. Your employer must help low income, underserved residents or underserved areas in the state. You must have educational loans from a university, government, or commercial source that you used to pay college expenses. You may not be in default on a loan. Your annual gross salary cannot exceed $60,000. If married, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $60,000, and your combined salaries cannot exceed $130,000. If employed as a nurse faculty member, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $75,000. If married, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $75,000, and your combined salaries cannot exceed $160,000. This is a service-based program. Prior service obligations from other State of Maryland scholarships must be completed by July 1. One position cannot fulfill two service obligations simultaneously.PRE-GRADUATION LAW STUDENT REQUIREMENTSYou must be a law student attending University of Maryland, Baltimore or University of Baltimore and in your third and final year of school. You must submit a Pre-Graduation Law Application before graduation in May, together with verification of an employment offer. You must submit a LARP General application by September 30 and meet all eligibility requirements listed above.

Nurse Support Program II - Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship and Living Expenses Grant

Who may apply: An eligible student who is sponsored by a Maryland higher education institution to complete the graduate education necessary to become a qualified nursing faculty at a Maryland higher education institution. How to apply: Complete and submit the application for the Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship and Living Expenses Grant and all required documentation to the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA). To be considered for the Living Expenses Grant, an applicant must submit their 2009 Maryland State tax return and W-2 forms.When to apply: The Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship and Living Expenses Grant application and documentation must be submitted prior to the start of the semester they wish to be considered for funding. Students are encouraged to apply by August 1 to start in the fall semester, by December 1 to start in the spring semester, and by May 1 to start in the summer semester. Applications submitted after the suggested deadlines will be considered as long as funds are available.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSTo be eligible for the Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship, an individual must be a Maryland resident and be enrolled at a Maryland college or university as a full-time (9+ credits per semester) or part-time (6-8 credits per semester) graduate student in a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) program or another graduate-level nursing program required to prepare individuals to become nursing faculty. Audited courses cannot be used to reach the minimum credit hours required for full-time or part-time status. The Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship is not based on need. You must provide documentation of sponsorship by a nursing school in Maryland. The nursing school sponsoring the student must agree to provide mentors for the student and incorporate the student into its campus faculty culture and, provide career counseling and assistance with placement as a faculty member at the institution or another nursing school in the State.To be eligible for a Living Expenses Grant, an applicant must receive and accept an offer for a Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship and must submit their 2009 Maryland State tax return and W-2 forms. Eligible applicants must have an annual gross salary that does not exceed $75,000 if single, or an annual gross salary that does not exceed $75,000 with a combined adjusted gross income that does not exceed $160,000 with their spouse, if married. A student receiving the Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship and Living Expenses Grant must commit to: (1) completing the required graduate program within a maximum of two years for full-time students and (2) working as a nursing faculty at a Maryland institution upon program completion.FINANCIAL NEEDThe Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship is not based on need. The Living Expenses Grant is based on an applicant's income from his/her Maryland State tax return and W-2 forms.AWARD AMOUNTThe Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarship equals the amount of tuition and mandatory fees not to exceed $13,000 per academic year ($6,500 per fall and spring semesters) and will be prorated for part-time recipients. The award is renewable for a maximum amount of $26,000. Award recipients may request summer funding, as long as the total amount of funding for the academic year does not exceed $13,000. Summer funding requests not originally noted on applications must be in writing and be received by OSFA by May 1 of each year. Summer awards are subject to the availability of funds.Living Expenses Grant awards may not exceed the maximum of $25,000 per academic year ($12,500 per semester) for full-time (9 + credits per semester) recipients and will be prorated for part-time recipients. If a recipient is receiving any type of stipend, salary supplement and/or other form of financial assistance for living expenses, it may be deducted from the grant award total. Grant awards are subject to the availability of funds and all eligible applicants may not receive an award.

Tuition Reduction for Non-Resident Nursing Students

Who may apply: Non-residents of Maryland who attend a two-year or four-year public institution in Maryland.How to apply: Apply online using the MD CAPS system. Print out all required documents after filing. Once completed, submit documents to the Office of Student Financial Assistance.When to apply: Applications become available in April.Eligible majors: Undergraduate nursing program.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSYou must be a resident of a state other than Maryland. You must enroll at a two-year or four-year Maryland public college or university as a full-time (12+ credits per semester) or part-time (6-11 credits per semester), degree-seeking undergraduate student. Audited courses cannot be used to reach the minimum credit hours required for full-time or part-time status. You must be accepted into a nursing program.FINANCIAL NEEDThis award is not based on need.AWARD AMOUNTYour college may reduce your tuition so that you pay the tuition charged to a Maryland resident.RENEWING AN AWARDYour award will be renewed automatically for an additional year if you attend a two-year public institution or for an additional three years if you attend a four-year public institution. You must maintain the satisfactory academic progress standards of the institution you attend and remain enrolled in an eligible program.SERVICE OBLIGATIONYou must sign and return a promissory note agreeing to serve as a full-time nurse in a hospital or related institution. Service is for four years if you attended a four-year public institution or for two years if you attended a two-year public institution, regardless of the number of years for which you received an award, or you must repay the scholarship with interest. If you hold this scholarship with any other award requiring a service obligation, you must perform your service in consecutive years. Recipients of this Program have six months from the date of graduation to begin the service.

Kevin L. Boyer M.D. Charitable Foundation,Inc

The Foundation will provide scholarships, endowments, and grants for high school seniors who have expressed specific interest in health care education. Interested students can apply for a foundation scholarship by writing a two page summary that includes: I. Career intentions and a summary of the applicant’s goals in pursuing a career in a health care profession. II. Events which have influenced the applicant’s future goals. III. Factors demonstrating aptitude for a career in health care. IV. Brief summary of the applicants financial need. V. Qualifications, resume, and class ranking. VI. Applicants personal information including names of parents, mailing address and reliable phone number. Applications are currently accepted from students attending one of the following local schools: Manatee, Southeast, Bayshore, Braden River, and Lakewood Ranch.

The Joseph O. and Geraldine Waymire Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship fund has been established to honor the memory of Joseph and Geraldine Waymire. Their family philosophy on building a fulfilling life was founded on education. In their later years, they urged their caregivers to continue their own educations to enrich their lives. This scholarship is intended to further the Waymires’ educational encouragement.Criteria:? Plan to pursue a registered nursing degree through J. Everett Light Career Center? Demonstrate a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an aptitude for nursing? Completed one semester of the nursing program

FNSNA Scholarships

FNSNA scholarship eligibility criteria include:• Current enrollment and matriculation in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic pre-licensure doctorate or generic prelicensure master’s degree; or enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program;Matriculation means the student has applied to and has been admitted into a state approved nursing program.• Pre-nursing students taking courses to prepare for matriculation into a nursing program;• Attending classes and taking no less than six (6) credits per semester.• Involvement in student nursing organizations and/or community health activities;• Document academic achievement;• Establish financial need;• U.S. Citizen or Alien with U.S. Permanent Resident Status/Alien Registration Number;• High school students are not eligible to apply;• Students graduating prior to December 2011 are ineligible to apply.

Ann E. Taylor Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship honors the career of Ann Elizabeth Taylor, who graduated from HSU with her B.S. in Nursing in 1977. Recipients must be full-time nursing or pre-nursing majors, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, and demonstrate financial need by filling out a FAFSA. No additional application is required.
