Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry Fellowships
To provide funding to nurses engaged in research on the history of nursing. Amount Awarded: $3000 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: Applicants must be nurses engaged in historical scholarship that advances the field of nursing history. Selection is based on the scholarly rigor of the investigator's project, including clarity of the project's purpose, its rationale and significance, rigor of its methodology and questions posed, and potential contribution to the field of nursing. Additional Information: The winner must present a paper from his or her project in the Center's History Forum series.
Charlotte Anzalone Scholarship Fund
To qualify for an FNF scholarship, you must be admitted and enrolled in an accredited State of Florida nursing program. Eligible students include those in associate, baccalaureate, and or Master's programs.You must also be a resident of Florida at least one year. Duration: 1 year.
Charlotte Liddell Scholarship Fund
To qualify for an FNF scholarship, you must be admitted and enrolled in an accredited State of Florida nursing program. Eligible students include those in associate, baccalaureate, and or Master's programs.You must also be a resident of Florida at least on year. Amount Awarded: $250 to $2,000 Duration: 1 year. Clinical Practice Grant
To provide funding to members of AACN who wish to conduct research directly related to the association's clincial practice research priorities. Amount Awarded: $6000 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Eligibility: RNs who are current members of the association may apply for these grants. They must propose to conduct research on a topic that the AACN has identified as a priority for clinical practice: techniques to optimize pulmonary function and prevent pulmonary complications; weaning of mechanically ventilated patients; effect of nursing activities/interventions on hemodynamic parameters; techniques for real-time monitoring of tissue perfusion and oxygenation; nutritional support modalities and patient outcomes; interventions to prevent infection; pain assessment and pain management techniques; accuracy and precision of invasive and non-invasive monitoring devices; and effect of nursing activities, environmental stimuli, and human interactions on intracranial and cerebral perfusion pressure. Research conducted in fulfillment of an academic degree is acceptable.
CNNT Research Grants
To support research related to nephrology nursing by members of the CNNT of the National Kidney Foundation. Amount Awarded: $20000 Number Awarded: Varies each year. Duration: 1 year. Letters of intent must be submitted; grant proposals are due by the end of the following January. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the council who wish to conduct research on ESRD and urological diseases. Applicants must hold a regular membership in the council, have at least 2 years work experience as a nephrology nurse or technician, reside in the United States or its territories, have written approval from the department head or facility director at the institution or facility where the research is to be conducted, and have prior research training or support from an individual with research experience. Selection is based on merit of the proposal, qualifications of the applicant, and relevance to the field of nephrology nursing. Research on ESRD and urological diseases.
Community-Based NP Project Grant
To provide funding to members of AANP who wish to develop a community-based health care project. Amount Awarded: $2000 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the academy who are currently licensed, practicing NPs. Applicants must be interested in funding a community-based health care project designed and administered by NPs. The project must directly deliver health care to a specified community and/or educate a specific community population about prevalent health care issues. It must be a new project, defined as a project that is in the planning stage or has not been implemented for more than 6 months. Additional Information: There is a $10 application fee. Critical Care Research Grant
To provide funding to members of AACN who wish to conduct research on the context within which their critical care nursing takes place. Amount Awarded: $15000 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Eligibility: RNs who are current members of the association may apply for these grants. They must propose to conduct research on a topic that the AACN has identified as a priority for clinical practice: incorporation of research findings into critical care nursing practice; levels of nursing competence and the effect on patient outcomes; occupational hazards; ethical issues related to initiation, maintenance, and withdrawal of life support technology; patient care delivery models for critical care; collaboration and communication among health care professionals; and role of critical care nurses in decisions regarding resuscitation status of critically ill patients. Data-Driven Clinical Practice Grant
To provide funding to members of AACN who wish to use patient-focused data and/or previously generated research findings for critical care nursing research. Amount Awarded: $1000 Number Awarded: 6 each year. Eligibility: RNs who are current members of the association may apply for these grants. They must propose to conduct research involving the use of patient-focused data and/or previously generated research findings to develop, implement, and evaluate changes in acute and critical care nursing practice. Funds may be awarded for new projects, projects in progress, and projects required for an academic degree. Eligible projects can include research utilization studies, CQI projects, or outcomes evaluation projects. Collaborative projects are encouraged and may involve interdisciplinary teams, multiple nursing units, home health, sub-acute and transitional care, other institutions, or community agencies. Additional Information: Funds may not be used for salaries or institutional overhead. Research involving the use of patient-focused data and/or previously generated research findings to develop, implement, and evaluate changes in acute and critical care nursing practice.
Dean and Fred Hayden Memorial National Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are interested in obtaining further education. Amount Awarded: $2500 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia education program. Applicants must be second-year students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic excellence. Students in nurse anesthesia education programs must hold a current license as a registered nurse and a bachelor of science in nursing or another appropriate baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Dean Hayden Student Research Grant
To provide funding to student members of the AANA who interested in conducting research. Amount Awarded: $2500 Number Awarded: Varies each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: Applicants for these grants must be students in good academic standing and members of the association. They must be proposing a research project related to the field of nurse anesthesia.
Dean Hayden, CRNA Missouri Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are interested in obtaining further education in Missouri. Amount Awarded: $1500 Number Awarded: 2 each year. Duration: 1 academic year. Eligibility: This program is open to members of the association who are currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia education program in Missouri. Applicants must be second-year students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic excellence. Students in nurse anesthesia education programs must hold a current license as a registered nurse and a bachelor of science in nursing or another appropriate baccalaureate degree from an approved nursing program. Dempster Doctoral Education NP Research Grant
To provide funding to members of AANP who wish to conduct research for a doctoral degree project. Amount Awarded: $1200 Number Awarded: 1 each year. Duration: 1 year. Eligibility: This program is open to current student and full members of the academy who are pursuing a doctoral degree and working on their dissertation research. Applicants must be a currently licensed, practicing NP in the United States and the principal investigator on a research project that is to be used for their degree program. Their GPA in their doctoral program must be a 3.5 or higher. The research must have an outcomes-based primary care focus relevant to health care provided by NPs within the United States.
