Fedderman Scholarship
These performance awards can amount to the equivalent of one-half of tuition and are available in both vocal and instrumental music. However financial need is not a factor when determining a talent award
Laura Jane Frank Memorial Scholarship
These performance awards can amount to the equivalent of one-half of tuition and are available in both vocal and instrumental music. However financial need is not a factor when determining a talent award
Ross Burghardt Scholarship
These performance awards can amount to the equivalent of one-half of tuition and are available in both vocal and instrumental music. However financial need is not a factor when determining a talent award
George Veeh Scholarship
These performance awards can amount to the equivalent of one-half of tuition and are available in both vocal and instrumental music. However financial need is not a factor when determining a talent award
Music Awards
Departmental determination based upon auditions for those living within 200 miles or tapes beyond 200 miles; separate music application required - call School of Music, (909) 335-4014. Submission: Music awards are offered as a result of auditions or the evaluation of tapes. Although offered on a rolling basis, music candidates are advised to apply by Phase I, as well as contact the School of Music for an audition or submission of tape. Please indicate on the application your interest in the music award. Renewal policy: Academic good standing with at least a 2.7 GPA with requirement of private music study and participation in large ensemble.
Dan Gann Scholarship
To a student majoring in Music who show exceptional overall academic potential and are highly recommended by Music Department faculty.
Get Showcasd Performing Arts Scholarship
The Get Showcasd Performing Arts Scholarship is for any and all performing artists. Just answer this question: How have the performing arts impacted your life? You may submit videos, audio files, photos, documents, or typed text. The winners will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and the quality of their answer. Glenn Miller Birthplace Society
Clarinda’s Glenn Miller Birthplace Society is, once again, offering scholarships in both instrumental and vocal categories. Winners of the scholarships are awarded $3,000 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd place, and $1,000 for 3rd place in each category. These scholarships, which are awarded without regard to any other award, may be used for any education-related expense.
It is not the purpose of this competition to select Glenn Miller look-alikes or sound- alikes, nor is it limited to pop music performances. Rather, in honoring Glenn, we wish to seek out and assist promising young talents from any field of applied music who may be musical leaders of tomorrow.
Elizabeth Furber Fellowship
The Elizabeth Furber Fellowship will be awarded to an American Indian/Alaska Native woman graduate student studying creative fine arts, visual works, crafts, music, performing, dance, literary arts, or creative writing & poetry. Eligibility: Be an enrolled member of a United States federally-recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group or possess one-fourth degree Indian blood from a federally-recognized tribe. Be enrolled full-time in a Masters, doctoral or professional degree program at an accredited college or university within the United States. Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) from the United States Department of Education and the office of the university you plan to attend. Application Procedure: Note: Application for the Elizabeth Furber Fellowship additionally provides eligibility for other American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) administered graduate/professional awards, especially the AIGC Fellowship. The possibility of an applicant being granted multiple awards by AIGC also exists, especially as regards smaller-amount awards. You need only complete one application. A completed AIGC Fellowship Application. A Financial Need Form (FNF) completed by the college or university financial aid office. A Tribal Eligibility Certification (TEC). Col. Curtis Kekoa (KS ’40) and Nenita Maldonado Kekoa Scholarship
Minimum GPA 3.0
Demonstrate desire to work in the area of, but not limited to military and/or music
Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community
Financial need may be considered in the selection
One letter of recommendation citing applicants credentials & potential for success
Essay outlining the students eligibility and reasons why they deserve this award
Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
General criteria:
• Must be a classified undergraduate student
• Enrolled in a degree-seeking program, unless specifically noted
• Enrolled in a two- or four-year, accredited* college institution in Hawai`i or the continental U.S.
• Full-time status, unless specifically noted
• Demonstrate interest in Hawaiian language, culture, history
• Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community.
Applications are open to the general public. However, it is the policy of the Pauahi Foundation to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law.
Berenice Barnard Music Specialist Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Music (Education or Performance) Student Profile: Student from the city of San Buenaventura or Ojai enrolling at an accredited college, university or studying under a known music teacher. Student must demonstrate interest and involvement in music. Special Requirements: Essay should discuss why student wishes to continue his/her music education; two of the three required letters of recommendation must directly relate to the student
Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts
The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts offers assistance to students who are training for a ministry in the United Methodist Church in the areas of music, worship, drama, dance, visuals and other liturgical arts. Applicants must have been members of the United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to application, giving strong evidence of Christian character and participation in Christian activities of the church and/or campus. Applicants must be full-time music degree candidates in an accredited university, college, or school of theology, or pursuing an education in worship or the arts related to worship. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional musical/artistic talent, effective leadership ability, and outstanding promise of future usefulness to the Church in the areas of music and/or worship.
