Lead Belly Music Scholarship
Lead Belly's impact on the history of American music is unquestioned and legendary. He is a forerunner to Rock and Roll, as well as an inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We at the Lead Belly Foundation aspire to expose the world to many such influential artist through our scholarship recipients, support to school music programs, community music institutes and camps. It is our hope that future artist may one day change the way we listen to music and attain honor of having their own music recorded over and over again like a vast majority of famous musicians have done with the music of Lead Belly.
D.J. and Rose Nidetz Scholarship
Established to benefit a student studying the arts.Eligibility: Chosen field of study is the arts: art, music, theater, dance; involved in a Community Theater production with a current NIETF Theater.Deadline: June 15thApplication: Available on NIETF website www.nwindianatheatre.org
Other Majors Scholarships
Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the Other Majors Application
Dennis Coleman Scholarship
For LGBT students studying choral conducting or music with preference given to those committed to creating social change through music.
Davidson Fellows Scholarships
The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 scholarships to extraordinary young people under the age of 18 who have completed a significant piece of work.Application categories are Mathematics, Science, Literature, Music, Technology, Philosophy and Outside the Box. Davidson Fellows are honored every year in Washington, D.C. with Congressional meetings and a special reception.Eligibility To be eligible for consideration as a Davidson Fellow, applicants must: * Be under 18 years of age. Individuals born on or before October 1, 1993 are not eligible. * Be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States, or a Permanent Resident of the United States residing in the United States, or be stationed overseas due to active U. S. military duty. * There is no minimum age for eligibility. Davidson Fellows must be available to attend, with at least one parent or guardian, the awards reception and other recognition events to be held in September in Washington, D.C. (Travel expenses and lodging will be provided by the Institute.)
NAC Scholarships
The Nantucket Arts Council provides scholarships to those year-round Nantucket residents who are graduating high school seniors and who wish to continue their education in the arts at the college level.The Council will support study in the fields of music, dance, literature, drama, and the visual arts. Scholarships will be awarded to students attending accredited institutions and who are majoring in the arts.The scholarships will be awarded based upon the merits of the candidate, recommendations, interviews, and examples of candidates work.
The Music Foundation of SW Florida College Scholarships
Each year a Southwest Florida high school senior can receive a scholarship to Edison Community College to major in music. The recipients audition for and are accepted by the Music Department at the college.
Glenn Miller Birthplace Society Scholarships
Application Requirements/Description:Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors or first year college students who intend to make music a central part of their future life. Those who have entered as high school seniors are eligible to compete again as college freshmen, unless they have been previous first place winners.APPLICANTS must submit a clear high-quality audio CD or cassette tape to the Scholarship Committee.
Clarence and Bonnie Shaffer Scholarship
Scholarship for a senior who is a member of the Trinity United Meth. Church majoring in music, education or ministry.
The Rosamund Victoria Adler Scholarship for Lawrence University
Established by Anne & Bette Adler (founders of the MarshfieldArea Community Foundation) in honor of their mother.Eligibility: Preference will be given to female Lawrence university students who are enrolled in the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. Further preference will be given to students from the Marshfield area or from Wisconsin. Financial need is a requirement. Virginia B. Franke Scholarship
