The ASCAP Foundation Rudy Perez Songwriting Scholarship
Rudy Perez, recipient of two consecutive El Premio ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Awards and a leading producer of Latin Music, has established The ASCAP Foundation Rudy Perez Songwriting Scholarship. This scholarship is presented annually to an aspiring Latino songwriter who demonstrates potential to produce creative and original work and also demonstrates financial need.
The ASCAP Foundation Henry Mancini Music Scholarships
Named for Henry Mancini, whose credits include acclaimed soundtracks such as Days of Wine and Roses and Breakfast at Tiffanys, this program is generously funded by Ginny Mancini to honor the memory of her husband. These scholarships provide support for music composition students at universities across the country.
The ASCAP Foundation Steve Kaplan TV & Film Studies Scholarship
This scholarship, named in memory of Steve Kaplan, award-winning Television and Film composer whose music is featured on Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, provides financial assistance for an aspiring television and film composer to attend ASCAPs Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles. The recipient is selected by ASCAPs Los Angeles Film & Television department. It is generously funded by The Kaplan Family.
The ASCAP Foundation David Rose Scholarship
The ASCAP Foundation David Rose Scholarship was established with a gift from The Rose Family Trust to honor television and film-scoring great David Rose. David Roses best-known works include the instrumental standards, Holiday for Strings and The Stripper, music for Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie and decades of work with radio and television star Red Skelton. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a qualified college-level student working toward a career in scoring for film and/or television who is participating in ASCAPs Film & Television Scoring Workshop.
The ASCAP Foundation Cherry Lane Foundation/Music Alive! Scholarship in honor of Quincy Jones
The ASCAP Foundation Cherry Lane Foundation/Music Alive! Scholarship in honor of Quincy Jones is funded by the Cherry Lane Music Foundation. This scholarship is presented annually to an African-American college or university student majoring in music who demonstrates musical talent and proficiency in the areas where Quincy has made his mark: composing, arranging, producing, conducting and performing. The scholarship will alternate between Berklee, Howard University in Washington, DC; Morehouse and Spelman Colleges in Atlanta; the University of New Orleans in New Orleans and the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Alexander Violin Scholarship Fund
The Alexander Violin Scholarship fund is established through the Baton Rouge Area Foundation to provide cash scholarships to deserving violin and viola students selected by an independent Scholarship Advisory Committee. The scholarships shall be used to help defray the cost of room and board, books and supplies. The scholarship is available to students who have been admitted to the string program at Nicholls State University and is valid for the duration of the four-year undergraduate program. Students will be evaluated according to their audition for entrance into the school of fine arts at Nicholls State University. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION Scholarships of up to $10,000 may be awarded, the amount to be determined on a case by case basis by the Scholarship Advisory Committee. To maintain the scholarship, the recipient must continue to demonstrate his/her scholastic achievement by earning a minimum of 2.5 grade-point average each semester. The recipient must also continue to demonstrate good character. At the end of each semester, the recipient will provide the Foundation with an official transcript and proof of full-time enrollment for the next semester. The subsequent scholarship check will be issued upon receipt of these materials.
Frank Huntington Beebe Fund for Musicians
Awards scholarships and fellowships to musicians for postgraduate study abroad; also awards grants for projects involving the achievement of a specific objective in the musical field. Nassau Music Society Scholarship
