Mechanical Engineering Scholarships

One $5,000 award will be made annually in the name of the corporation cited as the Recycler of the Year by the Plastics Recycling Division of SPE at their annual Recycling Conference. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include but is not limited to plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. 3. An applicant must be in good academic standing with his or her college. 4. Financial need of applicant will be considered.

Applicants must have expereince in the thermoset industry, such as courses taken, research conducted or jobs held. Criteria: 1. Thermoforming Division/Ed Segen Memorial Scholarships are available to graduate or undergraduate students in science, engineering and related disciplines who show interest in pursuing a career in the thermoforming industry. Applicants must be attending a 4-year college or graduate school that offers courses, research or related activities in thermoforming. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better; undergraduates must have completed at least two (2) years of credits. Two $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to graduate or undergraduate students who are pursuing a career in the plastics industry. Applicants must have experience in the thermoforming industry, such as courses taken, research conducted or jobs held. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. One award of $2,500 is made each year to support undergraduate or graduate research in the field of polymer extrusion. Applicants ,ust be workong on a Senior or MS project which the scholarship will help support. The project must be described in writing, including background, objective, and proposed experiments. The recipients will be expected to furnish a final research summary report. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include but is not limited to plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. 3. An applicant must be in good academic standing with his or her college. 4. Financial need of applicant will be considered.

In 1926, Margaret Fisher established a scholarship with the United Advisory Scholarship Commission in 1926 in the name of her late husband, E.C.Fisher, a former member of the Saginaw Board of Education. Mr. Fisher received a Mechanical Engineering degree from Cornell University. To honor Mr. Fisher’s great interest in engineering, this scholarship will assist a graduating senior from any high school in the City of Saginaw pursuing a degree in engineering. Qualifications: ● Graduating senior from a Saginaw Public School ● Pursuing a degree in Engineering ● Must reside in the Saginaw Public School District ● Full-time enrollment Criteria: Scholastic record; financial need; overall involvement in community, school and work activities.

Program Description:Air Products is a leading worldwide company, serving customers in industrial, energy, technology and healthcare markets with a unique portfolio of atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and equipment and services.The HSF/Air Products Excellence in Engineering program will award two outstanding engineering majors with a $15,000 scholarship each. Program Description:The HSF/Hormel Scholarship Program is a scholarship of $2,500 awarded for applicants interested in a career in the food industry.In addition, interested students can apply to be considered for a paid internship. Program Description:The HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation Scholarship Program is a scholarship of up to $15,000 per year. Selected students may receive up to $15,000 for two academic years for a possible total award of $30,000.In addition, scholars will be offered the opportunity to participate in a possible paid 8-10 week summer internship at various Marathon Oil Corporation locations. Scholars will also be paired with a Marathon Oil Corporation employee who will serve as a professional mentor.Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic American, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, or American Indian/Alaskan Native heritage. * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. Selected students will receive $10,000 for one academic year, renewable the following year upon confirmation of continued eligibility. Description The HSF/VAMOS Scholarship Program is designed to assist high school seniors of Hispanic heritage from Cameron, Hidalgo, and Starr counties in Texas obtain a bachelor's degree. Selected students attending UT-Pan American may receive $3,000 per year. All others may receive up to $5,000 per year for four academic years.
