University of Detroit Mercy/College of Engineering & Science/SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility: Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student admitted directly into an engineering program at UDM. Selection will be based on academic and leadership achievement.
Terms: Two $500 scholarships will be awarded each year. Scholarship may be renewed for one additional year if a 3.0 GPA is maintained and student remains in the engineering program.
Milwaukee School of Engineering/SAE Engineering Scholarship
Located in Wisconsin, Milwaukee School of Engineering is a small, independent, non-sectarian college located near the center of downtown Milwaukee and just a few blocks from Lake Michigan. With an enrollment of 3,000 students, MSOE's mission is to provide a balanced education in technical and non-technical areas for men and women in disciplines of engineering, management, nursing, communication, and technology. In completing this mission, MSOE is very proud of its close working relationship with business and industry.
Student Eligibility: Applicants should be incoming freshmen accepted into either the Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
Terms: One $1,000 scholarship renewable for three additional years if the student maintains a 2.5/4.0 cumulative grade point average.
University of the Pacific/SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility: Applicants must be incoming freshmen accepted by the School of Engineering and Computer Science. They should major in Mechanical Engineering and join SAE International as a student member.
Terms: One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded, and is renewable for four years provided that the student remains in good academic standing at Pacific.
York College of Pennsylvania/IAC Scholar/SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility: Incoming first-time freshman pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering are eligible. Requirements include a combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1210 or higher with a minimum score of 540 on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 29 (optional writing test required) with a minimum score of 24 on the math and English sections), top 1/5 of high school graduating class, and full admission to York's engineering program. These students will also be eligible to compete for a full tuition scholarship.
Terms: One one-third-tuition scholarship will be awarded each year. A minimum GPA of 3.25 is required to renew the scholarship each year for up to four years. One-half of the scholarship will be awarded to the student maintaining a GPA of 3.0 to 3.24. Candidates must be accepted to York College by February 1.
SUNY-Alfred/Vernon Gleasman/SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and transfer students academically prepared to pursue an associate or baccalaureate degree in engineering technology will be eligible. Preference will be given to students enrolling in mechanical engineering technology or mechanical design engineering technology.
Terms: One $500 scholarship will be offered. For more information contact the Admissions Office at Alfred State.
Richard Goolsby Scholarship
Description:
Provides scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students who have shown a career interest or demonstrated practical experience in the plastics industry.
Minimum Eligibility:
Be a full-time student in good academic standing
Be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This includes but is not limited to chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration.
Be a rising college sophomore, junior or senior at a four-year college or two-year technical school
or
A graduate of a four-year college seeking to obtain a post-secondary graduate degree.
General Scholarships
To qualify, you must be a woman and have COMPLETED at least your first year in architecture; landscape architecture; civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering as related to architecture; urban and land planning; interior design; environmental design or architectural rendering and illustration. You must be attending a California school or be a California resident attending an out-of-state school. You must be enrolled for the ensuing year. A maximum of ten students will be chosen as finalists. They MUST APPEAR, at their own expense, for a mandatory interview in Los Angeles.
3M Company Scholarships
These awards are presented to students entering engineering. Preference is given to electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering majors. Recipients must be U.S. citizens. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.5/4.0 or above.
Bechtel Corporation Scholarship
It is awarded to an active SWE Student Member in her sophomore, junior or senior year, majoring in chemical, architectural, electrical, environmental or mechanical engineering. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or above.
Dell Computer Corporation Scholarships
Awarded to entering juniors and seniors majoring in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering who demonstrate financial need. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or above.
Daimlerchrysler Corporation Fund Scholarships
Awarded to entering sophomore women in mechanical or electrical engineering, these scholarships are renewable for two additional years. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or above.
United Technologies Corporation Scholarships
The two awards presented each year are renewable for two years. Recipients must be U.S. citizens entering their sophomore year and majoring in electrical or mechanical engineering.
