Mathematics Scholarships

This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who attends a US university/college located Texas. Applicants must meet general FEA scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their application forms. This scholarship is made possible by the generous support and fundraising efforts of international educators working in Texas. Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. Must be applying for a study abroad program eligible for credit at the student’s educational institution Must plan to study abroad for a minimum of 4 weeks in country Is committed to supporting education abroad in his/her campus community through work with the FEA and his/her campus education abroad staff upon return Preferences: Applying to a study abroad program known for its academic rigor and immersion elements Applying to a study abroad program that includes studying the language of the host country (if not English) Applying to a study abroad program with a sustainable service-learning or volunteering component Applying to a study abroad program in a non-traditional destination Demonstrates financial need FEA strongly encourages students to apply who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad Groups typically underrepresented in study abroad include, but are not limited to: Minorities First-generation college students STEM majors Community college students Students with disabilities

Eligibility: Math/Natural Sciences Major • Must have completed 2 years of college course work including a minimum of 15 units at CSU Stanislaus and with at least eight units completed within the major• Be an active participant in sports (intramurals, church leagues, city leagues, recreational sports, etc). Describe sports participation in paragraph within statement of objectives.• Continue to be enrolled at CSU Stanislaus throughout the entire academic year in which award is received.* Scholarship applications are to be obtained from and turned into the Biology Department GPA: 3.00

Conditions of Eligibility The applicant must be a U.S. citizen. The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students. The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests. The applicant can only use the $10,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the next academic year. The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner. The applicant may apply for any of the scholarships offered by the National Space Club (Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship, Olin E Teague Scholarship, Keynote Scholarship) in the same year, but may only win one in the same year.

Objectives: The objectives of the AIST David H. Samson Canadian Scholarship are to reward and encourage Canadian students with scientific abilities to prepare for a career in engineering by providing financial support during attendance at a Canadian institution of higher education.Awards – One Scholarship, valued at US$2000 per year, is available each year for a maximum of four consecutive years or until graduation, whichever occurs first.Eligibility – Students eligible to compete for the Scholarship must, at the time of application, be the children (natural, adopted or ward) of a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who is a member, in good standing, of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology. The student must also be accepted in an eligible full-time course at an accredited Canadian university or college studying engineering. If there is no engineering applicant, the award will be made to an eligible student studying chemistry, geology, mathematics or physics. Consideration will be given to extracurricular activities. The Scholarship may be awarded to a student entering a community college if there is no eligible student entering an accredited university.

* The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation was created to ensure that the United States would maintain its leadership in science and technology in the future by supporting promising students in science and engineering. * Scholarship candidates must be nominated by faculty members. Students may not apply directly for the scholarship. * Scholarship nominees must be U.S. citizens. * Scholarship nominees must be engineering or natural or applied science (e.g. astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, computer science) or mathematics students with intentions to pursue research or advance their field upon completion of their final degrees. Students intending to pursue a practice in professional medicine are not eligible for the scholarship. However, those intending to perform biomedical research are eligible. * At the time of nomination, scholarship candidates must be at least second year (sophomore) college students, have excellent grades, and have participated in lab and research work in their field. With this background, the student is fairly well committed to continuing on this course. * The Astronaut Scholarship is awarded only to students during their junior or senior year, or to Masters students. In some cases students may carry their awards to a second year. * Scholarship nominees are those students who have shown initiative, creativity, and excellence in their chosen field. The university committee selects their best two candidates and submits these nominees to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Committee. * The ASF Scholarship Committee selects one recipient from each school and presents the candidates to the ASF Board of Directors for approval. If both nominees from a school are deemed unqualified, the scholarship will not be awarded to the school.

The Ben Glo Foundation Inc. Scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher majoring in mathematics, science, or medical field and with a demonstrated financial need.

Purpose: Merit scholarships for exceptional academic and community service experience, offered as encouragement to students to attend outstanding colleges and universities in the United States. Eligibility: Original enrollees of CIRI and their direct lineal descendants. Should have a cumulative 3.7 GPA or better. Amount: $20,000, annual. Duration: One academic year (includes two semesters). Special features: Must be accepted or enrolled full-time in a 4-year undergraduate or graduate degree program with preference given in the fields of business, education, math, sciences, health services, and engineering. Special Excellence Scholarships may or may not be given at the discretion of the Education Awards Committee.

This scholarship is designed to help people of all ages to complete a four year degree who are accepted and enrolled at NC State University in the College of Physical & Mathematical Sciences or Engineering. The applicant must be a resident of Gaston or Cleveland counties. Criteria for selection includes: community service, school performance, class ranking, interest in the arts and financial need.
