Hospitality/Hotel/Tourism Scholarship

This applies to universities whose above mentioned areas of studies start in their first year of a degree program (where scholarship is applicable). * University students in the third year of a degree program. This applies to universities whose above mentioned areas of studies start in third year, not in the first year of a degree program (where scholarship is applicable) * University students in the first-year of a 2+2 program (first 2 years completed in a community college) * Applicants must not have received any other Canadian Hospitality Foundation scholarships * Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents NOTE: Please see the areas of studies for each of the above mentioned scholarships.How to ApplyComplete the application form legibly and submit to the Awards Officer or your professor along with the following documents. Points assigned to each of the criteria (from a total of 100 points) are as follows: * Work experience (25): based on quality and length of work experience with extra points for foodservice, hospitality, and culinary-related experience and for increased levels of responsibility * Scholarship record (20): based on grade point average * Leadership and ability to get along with others (25): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions. * Professional promise (20): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions * Discretionary points (10): given to the discretion of each judge and based amongst other things on quality of application (neatness, imagination and effort put into the presentation).

IFEC Scholarships for Foodservice Communication Careers

IFEC scholarships are intended to assist students pursuing careers as writers, editors, public relations and marketing communication practitioners and closely related areas within the foodservice industry. EligibilityTo be considered eligible for an award, a student must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary, degree-granting educational institution in the U.S. and have an expected graduation date that is after December 31, 2011.The student must show evidence of training, skill and interest in both foodservice and the communication arts. The combination of studies and/or work experience in both the foodservice field and the communication arts is necessary. Applicants should have a strong academic record, good character references and demonstrate financial need. Majors considered applicable in the foodservice area include culinary arts, hotel, restaurant and institutional management, hospitality management, dietetics, nutrition, food science and technology, and related studies. Applicable majors in the communication area include journalism, public relations, mass communication, English, broadcast journalism, marketing, photography, graphic arts, and related studies.

Marsha Marie Trent Award

Available to business related majors in the Business Department To reward those students who have demonstrated consistent and outstanding academic achievement in high school and college and tend to be a worthy student of good character. For students with proven academic records, financial need or demonstrated leadership potential in any area. Instructions for Application: 1. All applicants must attach academic official transcripts to their applications.

Bill Taylor Scholarship Endowment

Enrolled members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians or their spouses, children, or other immediate family members pursuing a degree in Business Administration or a business related curriculum.

Benassurance Group Women in Business Scholarship

The Benassurance Group Women In Business Scholarship was formed to empower our newest generation of female students who are about to enter into the business community. The Benassurance Group will recognize an exceptional female student for her interest and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:  Insurance  Entrepreneurship  Finance  Sales  Marketing  Management Eligibility To be considered for the Women In Business Scholarship, the applicant must meet the following requirements:  Reside in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area  Current enrollment as a full time, undergraduate student  Provide current resume  Optional: Students may include a statement of 250 words or less to provide the selection committee with additional information. This is not required. Award 3 Female Finalists will be selected. The overall winner will receive a $750 award and each of the remaining finalists will receive a $125 award. Finalists will attend a 30-minute interview at the Benassurance Group office in Alexandria, VA.

International Foodservice Editorial Council Scholarship

The International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) awards scholarships annually to students with experience and/or education in the combination of food/ foodservice and the communication arts. Awards are intended to assist students planning to pursue careers as writers, editors, public relations practitioners, marketing communicators and similar within the food/ foodservice industries. This is a very specific niche. Students with questions about qualifications are encouraged to contact IFEC directly. Students in good standing in a degree-granting program of a post-secondary institution whose studies and work experience combine the fields of food/ foodservice and the communication arts are considered eligible. Awards range in amounts of from $1,500 – $6,000 and are dispersed in July of the award year. The deadline for submitting an application is midnight PST on March 15th. Global Business Diversity Scholarship

S P Jain School of Global Management provides tuition grants for its tri-city business degrees, both undergraduate and graduate. All students live in 3 cities: Singapore, Dubai and Sydney, Australia, and earn degrees in international business (marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, e-business, family business, etc.). Awards can be for full tuition, depending on qualification, but students must pay their own living expenses, transportation, and other fees. These "diversity" scholarships are designed to attract "international" students, meaning that applicants do NOT come from India, Pakistan or Sri Lanka, nor are they of Indian parentage. We are especially interested in attracting students from North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Russia and Central Asia, to strengthen the global nature of our student population. APIASF/Hilton Scholarship

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. HSF/GE Hispanic Forum Scholarship Program

Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Must intend to enroll as an undergraduate Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior or 5th Year Senior in the next academic year and be pursuing first undergraduate degree Must major in one of the following: Accounting, Aeronautics/Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering/Biotechnology, Biology, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybernetics/Robotics, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Finance, Industrial Engineering/Technology, Information Technology (IT/MIS), International Business, Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Marketing, Materials Science/Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Neuroscience, Nuclear Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Science, Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications Have plans to enroll FULL-TIME at a four-year U.S. accredited college or university in the geographic locations listed above. The DOC COHEN FRANCHISING SCHOLARSHIP

This program will support the award of a scholarship in the amount of $4,500, including a $500 travel stipend to the IFA Annual Convention. The award will be coordinated with DECA and the IFA Educational Foundation. Scholarship candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, with a major or primary focus in one or more of these areas of study - business, finance, marketing, food service, hospitality, franchising, or entrepreneurship. Criteria: An annual scholarship will be awarded to a college student who meets the selection criteria set forth below: The award will be coordinated with DECA and the IFA Educational Foundation. Scholarship candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major or primary focus in one or more of these areas of study - business, finance, marketing, food service, hospitality, franchising, or entrepreneurship. Candidates will complete an application form with a brief summary of academic record, course of study, interest in business and franchising and two reference letters. Special consideration will be given to winning team members in DECA's annual college franchising entrepreneurship competition or similar competitions organized by DECA. Students participating in the DECA competitions will be invited to submit applications for the scholarship.
