Ron Ruddle Memorial Scholarship

Graduate StudentsThe Ron Ruddle Scholarship is limited to Graduate Students. Student applicants will be reviewed by Foseco to determine the students whose work most closely follows Ron Ruddle's career. The scholarship will be awarded at the annual FEF College Industry Conference. Ron Ruddle was a prolific writer and speaker, known for his expertise on the solidification, gating, and risering of castings. He wrote more than fifty papers and several books and was a frequent speaker to foundry groups. Requirements Must be North American citizen or permanent resident Provide a one page or less, biographical sketch of your research Education FEF Registered Graduate Student Key Professor FEF Key Professors are encouraged to supply their own additional information on each student that applies for this Scholarship.

Keith Dwight Millis Scholarship

This scholarship is not just restricted to FEF Schools, but is open to all students, including international, who are interested in Ductile Iron. Keith Millis is the inventor of ductile iron. This process has exerted a tremendous influence on the metal working world. A new industry was born and has become very important to metal casters. Mr. Millis served on many Boards and societies, including the Presidency of FEF in 1967-68. He also served as the Executive Director of the Ductile Iron Society which honors him with these scholarships in his name. Location This scholarship will be awarded at either the Ductile Iron Society's Annual Meeting or the College Industry Conference. Requirements Students need to be registered with FEF. Students should have a demonstrated interest in Ductile Iron, and provide a letter to document their interest. Education Undergraduate and Graduate students both may apply.

AFS WI Past President Schoarship

FEF's screening of award candidates for final approval by the AFS Wisconsin Chapter will be based on the following criteria having three major categories each having equal weight. Within each category, the criteria is listed in descending orderResidency * Resident in AFS Wisconsin Chapter area * Resident of Wisconsin outside Chapter area * Resident of a state adjacent to Wisconsin * Residency other than aboveEducation * Attending an FEF school * Attending a Wisconsin school * Attending a school in an adjacent statePreferences * Preference will be given to students who are pursuing programs deemed most useful to the cast metal industry. * Preference will be given to students with best scholastic records.Work Experience * Currently in Co-op program involving the cast metal industry * Work experience in the cast metal industry * Any manufacturing work experience * Any work experience.

George J. Barker Memorial Scholarship

The George J. Barker Memorial Scholarship supports graduate level educational efforts, including direct student scholarships, in arts and sciences beneficial to the cast metal industry, particularly within the Wisconsin Chapter AFS membership area.Applications are submitted electronically on the FEF website and initially evaluated by the FEF. Final evaluation and selection of grant recipients are made through an interview process conducted by the George J. Barker Memorial Research Foundation Interview and Evaluation Committee. This Committee conducts interviews of each candidate either in person or via telephone. The Committee uses a cascade of criteria in considering applications. The maximum award could be as much as $5,000.00 although many factors such as funds availability, the number of qualified applicants, the needs of the individual applicants and the screening criteria below all can affect the sizes of the awards.Residency The Applicant must be a citizen of the United States, Canada or Mexico. Preference is then given as follows: * Resident of the State of Wisconsin * Resident of a state adjacent to Wisconsin * Resident other than aboveEducation - School Preference is given as follows: * Attending an FEF accredited or affiliated school in the State of Wisconsin * Attending any other FEF accredited or affiliated school * Attending a Wisconsin school * Attending any other schoolEducation - Course of Study The Applicant must be actively pursuing graduate level studies and must be performing at an acceptable level. Preference is then given as follows: * Pursuing a course of study in Engineering or the hard sciences directly related to the foundry industry and most likely leading to employment in the foundry industry * Pursuing a course of study leading to employment in the foundry industry * Pursuing a course of study leading to employment in academia in a field related to the foundry industryWork Experience - Please include this information in the text box below It is not required that the Applicant be employed. Full time students are eligible. However, preference is given as follows: * Currently employed full time or part time by a Wisconsin foundry * Currently employed full time or part time by a foundry outside of Wisconsin * Likely to begin employment or remain employed in the foundry industry

HSF/Hormel Scholarship

Program Description:The HSF/Hormel Scholarship Program is a scholarship of $2,500 awarded for applicants interested in a career in the food industry.In addition, interested students can apply to be considered for a paid internship. Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic heritage * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) * Have a permanent address in one of the following Midwest states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale * Be a Junior with an intended graduation date between December and August * Be majoring in Accounting, Mechanical Engineering (includes Mechanical Technology), Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology (includes Industrial Management) Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration (includes Operations), Management, Agriculture Science/Agronomy (includes Agriculture Engineering, Agribusiness, Ag Economics, Food Service), Computer Science, Information Technology (IT/MIS) (includes Computer Information Systems), Zoology (includes Animal Science), Marketing (includes Professional Selling), Hospitality Administration (includes Hotel/Restaurant Management) or related majors * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Regeneron Science Talent Search

Regeneron STS is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science research competition for high school students. Started in 1942 as the Westinghouse Science Talent Search, Regeneron STS recognizes and empowers our nation’s most promising young scientists who are developing ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges. Each year, nearly 2,000 students enter the Regeneron STS, submitting original research in critically important scientific fields of study. HSF/General Motors Scholarship Program

Program Description: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and General Motors (GM) have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latinos pursuing degrees in Engineering and Business. The award amount is $2,500. Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage. Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). Be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a four-year U.S. accredited college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands for the upcoming academic year (enrollment is verified in the Fall). Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Be majoring in Engineering (electrical, industrial, manufacturing and mechanical) or Business (accounting, business administration, economics and finance). Must complete the GM Online Assessment (required of semifinalist only).

CNC Machines Manufacturing Scholarship

To be considered applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited, 2-year college or 4-year university. Only students earning a degree in manufacturing, engineering or related fields are eligible to apply.

Vectorworks Design Scholarship

Nemetschek Vectorworks values the different backgrounds and experiences of the next generation of designers. We want to reward talented students and support their studies. While we strive to provide funding to as many students as possible, only a limited amount of scholarships are issued each year.The scholarship supports the next generation of creative potential on two levels. Round one winners will move on to compete for the grand prize, The Richard Diehl Award, in round two. $1000 Undergraduate - Companion Animal Interest Scholarship

Are you interested in pursuing a career in the pet industry? Do you want to work in the field of animal health and nutrition? The companion animal (pet) industry is expanding rapidly all around the world. Career opportunities in animal health, animal nutrition, marketing, publishing, and pet food manufacturing are increasing every year. Oxbow’s Undergraduate Scholarship is for students currently enrolled in a college or university who have demonstrated a career interest in companion animals. Scholarships are paid directly to the school in September. To Qualify: • Complete the application available online at www.oxbowanimalhealth.com • Submit a resume describing activities and job history • Provide two letters of reference • Provide proof of full-time enrollment in a college or university • Completed a minimum of 12 credit hours • Provide a transcript copy and current GPA • Submit a 300-500 word essay explaining why you want to pursue a career in the companion animal industry

Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division Scholarship

Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students in their sophomore or junior years, who are majoring in metallurgical and/or materials science and engineering with an emphasis on manufacturing from product design to production, integrating process control technology into manufacturing, and basic and applied research into key materials technologies that impact manufacturing processes. Additionally, each recipient receives up to $500 for travel expenses to attend the meeting and luncheon to accept the award. Recipients are known as MPMD Scholars. ELIGIBILITY AND JUDGING REQUIREMENTS The applicant must be a student member of Material Advantage. Applicants must be undergraduate sophomores or junior unless otherwise noted. Applicants must be enrolled full time in a metallurgical/materials science engineering program at a qualified college or university. Relatives of members of the funding committee/division are not eligible. Submitted coursework must be relevant to the scholarship for which the student is applying. Judging Criteria: Scholarship recipients are chosen by specially appointed selection committees. The following judging criteria are employed: Relevance of Coursework/Experience to division's focus Scholarship Application Academic Achievement Activities in and out of School, Including Work Experience Leadership Personal Profile Statement Letters of Recommendation
