Journalism Scholarships

This $1,500 award is given annually to a deserving graduating high school senior who is enrolling in college and pursuing a journalism career. Students are generally selected based on the following criteria: - commitment to the field of journalism - sensitivity to Asian American issues as demonstrated by community involvement - journalistic ability - scholastic ability - financial need

Minimum Eligibility Criteria Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply Be enrolling in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15 Submit one letter of recommendation online. Must major in journalism or communications Must be enrolling as a college junior or senior Enrolling as a full-time student in the upcoming academic year

ISF is honored to host the scholarship program of the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California, ICCNC. The ISF-ICCNC Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with ICCNC. The Islamic Scholarship Fund offers a wide range of scholarships based on the fields and majors it supports. ISF also offers many joint scholarships with partner organization that share its common mission and vision. ISF is honored to work with the Reza Aslan and to host the ISF-ASLANMEDIA Scholarship. This scholarship is only open to journalism and media students. Recipients of the ISF-Aslan Media scholarship program are encouraged to intern with that organization.
