Cyber Security Scholarships

Cyber Security Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing academic degrees in cyber security, cyber attack, computer science, information technology, digital forensics, or electronic engineering from an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States.* *Distance-Learning or Online programs affiliated with a major U.S. institution are eligible. Eligibility: Applications are requested from qualified sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students and graduate students enrolled full time in an eligible degree-granting program. Must be at least second-year student, regardless of academic hours accumulated. Applicants must be currently enrolled at the time of application in a two-year or four-year accredited college or university in the United States. Distance-learning programs are eligible. U.S. citizenship required. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. Candidates must be majoring in a field directly related to the support of U.S. cyber security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA such as cyber security, cyber attack, computer science, digital forensics, information technology, or electronic engineering. These are merit scholarships based on demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and financial need.

AFCEA Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to students currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the hard science or technology disciplines directly related to the mission of AFCEA while employed by a small business. Applicants must be a young professional (age 40 or under) with demonstrated entrepreneurial talents or accomplishments. Undergraduate candidates must be at least second-year students attending an accredited college or university in the United States. Graduate students must have completed at least two postgraduate-level classes prior to the deadline date. The scholarship is intended for students attending school on a part-time basis, whether at a two-year community college or accredited university institution. Part-time status will be defined as enrollment in at least two classes (semester-equivalent) with a declared major in a science or technology degree program or a declared major in a business field with a science or technology minor. Student enrolled in on-line or distance-learning programs will be eligible, as long as all other criteria are met. Eligible students must also be currently employed (see above). Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, attending an accredited college or university in the United States as either a traditional or distance-learning student, and working toward a degree in the following C4I-related fields of electrical, computer, chemical, systems or communications engineering; computer science; physics; mathematics; technology management; computer information systems; management information systems or related fields. Business majors with a minor in science or technology are also eligible. An overall GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale or better is required. Undergraduate applications will be accepted from sophomore, junior and senior students - minimum second-year students please. Graduate applications will be accepted from students who have completed at least two postgraduate-level courses and are enrolled in an eligible degree-granting master's degree program. General John A. Wickham Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility: NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors or related fields. Students must be attending full-time in an eligible undergraduate/graduate degree program with a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Qualifying STEM Majors include: electrical, computer, chemical, systems, or aerospace engineering; computer science; computer information systems; technology management; management information systems; physics; mathematics; bioinformatics; or other majors related to the mission of AFCEA. Important: In addition to the online application, other required documents include: current transcript issued by the school Registrar's Office and at least two letters of recommendation from relevant faculty. Instructions for electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. CSC Defense Graduate Scholarship

Eligibility: NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. Scholarships of varying amounts will be awarded to students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) majors or related fields. Students must be attending full-time in an eligible graduate degree program with a GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Qualifying STEM Majors include: electrical, computer, chemical, systems, or aerospace engineering; computer science; computer information systems; technology management; management information systems; physics; mathematics; bioinformatics; or other majors related to the mission of AFCEA. AFCEA STEM Major Undergraduate Scholarship

Dakota Corps Scholarship

The Dakota Corps scholarships are four-year, full-tuition-and-fee scholarships for South Dakota high school seniors who plan to major in and then become employed in one of the following critical-need occupations: special education, math education, science education, career and technical education, accountant/auditor, nursing, engineering (except mining), and information technology. Students must have a composite ACT score of 24 or greater and have graduated from an accredited South Dakota high school with a GPA of 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale. In addition, recipients must agree to stay in South Dakota and work in their critical need occupation for as many years as the scholarship was received plus one year. Applications are available from your high school guidance counselor or at the website.

AHIMA Merit Scholarships

One of the major initiatives of the AHIMA Foundation is to attract and support new talent in the health information management (HIM) industry by improving educational opportunities for current and future HIM professionals through scholarships. The AHIMA Foundation annually offers merit scholarships to currently enrolled outstanding undergraduates in HIM and health information technology (HIT) as well as those professionals pursuing master's or doctoral degrees in areas related to health information. There are four levels of scholarships offered: Associate's degree - $1,000 award for students pursuing a Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) accredited AA degree in HIM or HIT Bachelor's degree/Post-Baccalaureate certificate - $1,500 award for students pursuing a CAHIIM accredited BA/BS degree or a Post-Baccalaureate certificate in HIM or HIT Master's degree - $2,000 award for students pursuing a Master's degree in areas related to HIM or health informatics Doctoral degree - $2,500 award for students pursuing a doctoral degree in an area related to health information Eligibility To be eligible for a merit scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application Submit a completed online application and all of its components Additional requirements are listed on the online scholarship application

The AHIMA Foundation Board Chair’s Graduate Scholarship

For a graduate student who demonstrates leadership in HIM. Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. Assembly on Education Honorary Scholarship

Awarded to support HIM educators going back for further education Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The AHIMA Foundation Diversity Scholarships

Available to students who illustrate why their lives are in alignment with the AHIMA Foundation’s Guidelines on Diversity Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The CSA Leadership Scholarships

For applicants who exhibit a solid record of volunteerism Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Current member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) 2. Actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours towards pursuing a degree 3. Completed 24 credit hours towards a degree (for graduate degree applicants, this can include undergraduate credit hours) 4. Have at least six (6) credit hours remaining after the award date (after December 30) 5. Achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) based on the most recently completed 24 credit hours 6. Have not been awarded any AHIMA Foundation scholarship for the academic degree being sought through this application 7. The Charlotte Lefert Memorial Endowed Scholarship

For applicants who have a commitment to the long-term and post-acute care sector Eligibility To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1.
