HSF/Winchell's & Yum Yum Donuts Scholarship

Program Description:The Winchell's & Yum Yum Donuts Scholarship Program is available on a competitive basis to freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors in a 4-year college or university of Hispanic heritage from California. All students welcome to apply with preference given to business-related majors. Awards are in the amount of $3,000.Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic heritage. * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. * Be a FULL-TIME student in a degree seeking program at a four year accredited U.S. institution in California. * Must currently reside or attend school in California with a preference given to students from one of the following locations: Greater Los Angeles, San Diego, Northern California. * Preference given to students attending Loyola Marymount University, University of San Diego. * All Majors allowed with preference given to students majoring in Business Administration, Accounting, Advertising, Economics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Hospitality Management, Management, Marketing or Public Relations. * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

American Hotel Foundation Scholarship

Criteria: Open (Classification) 2.5 GPA Majors: Hotel Management UNCF Member Colleges and Universities (Participating Schools) Open (Participating States)

Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by Wells Fargo and administered by American Indian Graduate Center. To be considered for the Wells Fargo scholarship, an applicant must: Be an enrolled member of a United States federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group, as verified through submission of the AIGC Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC); Be pursuing a career and degree in fields relating to banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration, including accounting, finance, information technology and human resources; Be a college junior or senior at a U.S. accredited college or university as full time and degree seeking student maintaining an average GPA of a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; Demonstrate financial need through submission of the AIGC Financial Need Form (FNF).

Wells Fargo Graduate Scholarships

The Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship Fund--administered by AIGC--seeks to promote academic achievement and success for American Indian & Alaska Native Students. Wells Fargo Fellows: In 2006, the fund will award two $10,000 graduate Fellowships ($5000 Wells Fargo funds and $5000 matching funds from AIGC) for students pursuing a graduate degree or a professional degree in a business or a gaming/hospitality field and intending to pursue a career in the gaming/hospitality industry. This award has the potential to be renewed throughout the completion of the degree program. Evaluation: Students will be evaluated on academic ability by grade point average, class rank, and curriculum rigor. Also evaluated are exhibition of leadership, honors and awards received, community involvement, an essay, a letter of recommendation, intellectual skills beyond the classroom, accomplishments and professional development. Criteria: Maintained a 3.0 grade point average as an undergraduate or maintained a 3.0 gpa as a graduate student at the time of application. Will be attending a US accredited college or university as a full time degree seeking graduate student. Have demonstrated character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extra-curricular activities, academic achievement and motivation to serve and succeed. Proof of enrollment in Federal or State recognized Native American/Alaska Native tribe. Application Procedure: Note: Application for the Wells Fargo Graduate Fellowship additionally provides eligibility for other AIGC-administered graduate/professional awards, especially the AIGC Fellowship. The possibility of an applicant being granted multiple awards by AIGC also exists, especially as regards smaller-amount awards. You need only complete one application.

Timothy SY Lam Foundation Education Scholarship

The Timothy SY Lam Foundation offers education scholarships, each spring and fall, for students seeking a career in the hospitality industry, as well as to incumbents seeking credentials for advancement. The Foundation endeavors to identify and reward the best and brightest of the hospitality industry’s next generation of leaders.

NEWH Dallas Chapter Scholarship

TigerChef Culinary and Hospitality Program Scholarship Award

Tigerchef is excited to be giving away a scholarship to any culinary student who submits a winning essay on what inspired them to choose an educational path in the food industry! First-Time Freshman Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who will be first-time freshmen including graduating high school seniors, GED graduates and high school graduates enrolling in college for the first time. Applicants must be pursuing studies in a restaurant and food service-related program. Scholarship Eligibility For all applicants: You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident You must plan to use the scholarship in a foodservice-related program at an accredited college or university You must be enrolled or plan to enroll as a full-time or substantial part-time student taking a minimum of 9 credit hours each term You must plan to be enrolled for at least the two upcoming consecutive semesters You may receive only one NRAEF scholarship per calendar year. NRAEF scholarships are paid over two consecutive terms, and overlapping scholarships are not permitted.

Ione & Vincent Berg Family Scholarship

Eligibility: Fox Valley Technical College student enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program or Hotel and Restaurant Management Program, who has maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA and has financial need. Award Amount: Four $250 scholarships will be awarded each year; one scholarship will be awarded each semester to a student in the Culinary Arts Program and one scholarship of $250 will be awarded each semester to a student in the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program. Selection: Selection of recipients will be made by the Fox Valley Technical College Scholarship Selection committee. Payment Procedure: Scholarship payments will be made directly to Fox Valley Technical College Foundation upon their request.

Roy and Donita Gross Scholarship

Eligibility: Non-traditional students who have completed at least one semester in either the Culinary Arts or Hotel and Restaurant Management programs at Fox Valley Technical College. Award Amount: One non-renewable $500 scholarship awards for tuition expenses. Selection: Selection of the recipient will be made by the Fox Valley Technical College Scholarship Review Committee. Payment Procedure: Scholarship payment will be made directly to Fox Valley Technical College Foundation upon request. NEWH Chapters Scholarships

Chapter scholarships are awarded annually based upon the following criteria: Standard Criteria: Attend an accredited institution of higher learning Competition of half of the requirements for a degree or certification in the program currently enrolled Show financial need Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Have a career objective in one of the areas of the Hospitality Industry, such as Hotel/Restaurant Management, Culinary/Foodservice, Architecture, Interior Design Provide the following: Student Essay Transcript Letters of recommendation from Dept. Head, Professors, Advisor Letters of recommendation from industry professionals, employers, etc.
