Hospitality Management Scholarships

Here are some of the Hospitality Management scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Monterey County Hospitality Association Scholarship

MCHA is the only hospitality trade organization that serves all facets of the hospitality industry throughout Monterey County. All businesses in Monterey County are affected in some way by the tourism industry. Positive revenue for tourism and hospitality means positive growth for Monterey County. Positive growth for Monterey County means positive growth for your business. The purpose of the Monterey County Hospitality Association is to actively foster, protect and represent the interests of the members of the association by providing advocacy and representation on government issues; providing educational resources; and ensuring that the economic benefits of hospitality are made known to the community through active community and business relations efforts. Preferred recipient will be pursuing a career in the hospitality/wine industry. They should have a minimum of 250 hours of hospitality/wine related work experience and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Award amount: Minimum $2500 Who Can Apply: MCHA will provide NRAEF with names and applications of eligible applicants.

Professional Development Scholarships for Educators

This scholarship is for educators who are attending an NRAEF Summer Institute. Award amount: $1,750

Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation/American Culinary Federation Education Foundation

Eligibility Requirements: Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation partnered with ACF’s Education Foundation to award need-based scholarships to students seeking culinary careers and the pursuit of excellence. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded annually based on fund availability. To be considered by the scholarship committee, an applicant must meet the following criteria: • Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. • Be currently enrolled or accepted in an accredited, post-secondary school with a major in the culinary/hospitality field, or be an ACFEF-registered apprentice. • Demonstrate some level of foodservice experience or food classes at the secondary school level.

C-CAP Cooking Competition for Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must meet ALL of the requirements listed below in order be eligible for the C-CAP Cooking Competition for Scholarships: Applicant must currently attend a C-CAP partner public high school or after school program Applicant must be a Junior or Senior in high school, or must be enrolled in a GED program, or must have passed the GED test Applicant must be 21 years old or younger Senior applicants must have taken one (1) culinary course at the C-CAP approved high school or after school program (includes the course you are currently enrolled in), two (2) courses is preferred Junior applicants must currently be enrolled in a culinary course All GED applicants must have their GED scores on or before the date of the final competition The C-CAP Cooking Competition for Scholarships is a three-tier cooking competition where high school students compete for scholarships to support their post-secondary culinary and hospitality education. Students must be selected to participate in each of the following steps: C-CAP Application C-CAP Preliminary Competition C-CAP Final Competition

HSMAI Foundation Mike Dimond Scholarship

The HSMAI Foundation, which has been providing scholarships to students pursuing a career in hospitality sales and marketing since 1983, awards merit scholarships to full-time students in the Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Candidate category, and merit scholarships to part-time students pursuing Associate, Baccalaureate or Graduate Degrees. Graduate students are also considered for the new HSMAI Foundation Mike Dimond Scholarship.

Jack Millar Scholarship

Student must be enrolled full-time at the University of Hawaii’s Maui College and majoring in travel industry hotel/lodging management programs. Two students will each be awarded $1,000. Contact the Maui College scholarship office at (808) 984-3343 for information.

Lyle & Grace Guslander Scholarship

Student must be enrolled full-time at Kauai Community College and majoring in travel industry hotel/lodging management programs. Two students will each be awarded $1,000. Contact the Kauai Community College scholarship office at (808) 245-8311 for information.

Joe Filoni Scholarship

Student must be enrolled full-time at Kapiolani Community College and majoring in travel industry hotel/lodging management programs. Two students will each be awarded $1,000. Contact the Kapiolani Community College scholarship office at (808) 734-9716 for information.

Edwin K. Hastings Scholarship

Awarded to the outstanding senior in the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s School of Travel Industry Management. Contact the Director of Internship & Career Development at (808) 956-4899 for information.

R.W. Bob Holden Memorial Scholarship

Student must be a Hawaii resident; enrolled full-time at an accredited university/college in the United States; majoring in hotel/lodging management; and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Three students will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Deadline for applications is July 1. Written requests for scholarship applications will be accepted by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association beginning February 1. Mail requests to HLTA, 2270 Kalakaua Avenue, Suite 1506, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815 or download from the website. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? Students with the dedication and leadership potential to work toward the standards of excellence “Bob” Holden has set by his work. The following criteria should be met for the R. W. “Bob” Holden Scholarship: • Must be a resident of Hawaii and a U. S. citizen. • Must be a junior or senior attending an accredited university or college and accepted in a hotel management program. • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade

Clem Judd, Jr., Memorial Scholarship

Student must be a Hawaii resident; of Hawaiian ancestry; enrolled full-time at an accredited university/college in the United States majoring in hotel/lodging management; and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Up to two students will be awarded scholarships. Deadline for applications is July 1. Written requests for scholarship applications will be accepted by the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association beginning February 1. Students with the dedication and leadership potential to work toward criteria to be considered for the Clem Judd Jr. Memorial Scholarship: • Must provide proof of Hawaiian ancestry (birth certificate and/or birth certificate of mother, father, grandmother or grandfather). • Must be a resident of Hawaii • Must be a junior or senior attending an accredited university or college and accepted in a hotel management program. • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Conrad N. Hilton Scholarship

Student must be a Hawaii resident enrolled full-time at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management of the University of Houston (Texas). Contact the University of Houston scholarship office for information. Application deadline is March 1.
