Delivery System Science Fellowship
The AcademyHealth Delivery System Science Fellowship (DSSF) provides a paid post-doctoral learning experience to help researchers gain more applied experience conducting research in delivery system settings. Students and researchers with an interest in conducting research in delivery system settings are encouraged to apply.
To begin the application process, please complete the Intent to Apply. Once the Intent to Apply form is received, candidates will receive a confirmation email with a link to the full application, which requires a writing sample, CV, statement of interest, and two letters of support.
The Delivery System Science Fellowship provides a year-long professional development opportunity for highly qualified, doctorally-prepared individuals interested in enhancing and applying their analytic skills to relevant and timely research topics in a delivery system setting.
The need to develop experiential-learning opportunities in delivery system settings was expressed as a specific recommendation emerging from the HSR Summit on data and methods convened by AcademyHealth in 2009. The concept of a fellowship focused on delivery system science was also defined as a priority by the AcademyHealth HSR Learning Consortium (a forum for employers, educators, and student leaders interested in advancing training in HSR) in the Consortium’s 2011 strategic plan. AcademyHealth's strategic plan further emphasizes a commitment to advancing delivery system science.
The goal of the fellowship is to provide hands-on training and professional opportunities for highly qualified researchers with a background in health services research (HSR) or related fields to enhance analytic skills and ultimately increase the capacity of the HSR workforce. AcademyHealth, in collaboration with our delivery system partners, plans on identifying additional host sites in future years and securing support to grow and enrich this important new program. The fellowship is guided by an advisory committee, which provides strategic direction for the fellowship and plays a key role in selecting Fellows.
