Scholarship for Finance & Economics

StreamlineRefinance.net is pleased to offer scholarships for students who are currently enrolled in finance, economics, or investment related fields and who are pursuing advanced education in these particular areas. Qualified applicants are welcome to submit an essay of 500-1000 words which describes what they hope to accomplish during their career in the finance, economics, or investment fields. Scholarship will be awarded to one (1) recipient. Applicants must be any person 17 years of age or older who is currently accepted to a finance, economics, or investment related program, undergraduate or graduate (advanced degree) program at an accredited institution of learning within the United States. Requirements: Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age or older and be accepted to or attending a full-time finance, economics, or investment program at an accredited institution of learning. Applicant must be attending the program within an accredited institution within the United States. Applicant must be either a citizen of the United States or a foreign student with a valid United States Student Visa. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, based on the previous year’s academic performance.

Abercrombie & Fitch Future Leaders Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 Criteria: •Sophomore, junior, or senior college and/or university classification by Fall •Open to Business majors •Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or above based on a 4.0 scale. •Provide one letter of recommendation from an educator familiar with your academic career. •Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. •Provide a resume of your community service activities. •Must Maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours if applicable) for the duration of the scholarship. •Must be able to provide a color head shot of yourself for this scholarship application. •Scholar must attend Adelante's Annual Leadership Institute in San Antonio, TX on Oct. 19-21 (Sponsorship to attend is included along with the scholarship)

MillerCoors National Scholarship

Amount: $ 3,000 /Renewable Criteria •Junior or Senior university classification by the Fall Semester •Open to Business majors including : Accounting, Communications, General Business, Economics, Finance, International Business, Marketing, Public Relations or Sales majors •Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident •Must be of Hispanic descent •Must have a 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale •Maintain full-time enrollment status (12 hours) for the duration of the scholarship period •Provide two letters of recommendation highlighting leadership potential •Scholar must attend ¡Adelante!'s Annual Leadership Institute in San Antonio, TX (Sponsorship to attend is included along with the scholarship) •Must attend a Partnering University

S.D. Banker’s Foundation Annual Scholarship

The South Dakota Bankers Foundation offers three $3,000 scholarships and one $4,000 scholarship awarded to juniors with an expressed interest in banking, finance or business at any South Dakota College or University. Application forms are available from your campus guidance counselor, financial aid office or on the South Dakota Bankers Association website.

AGL Resources Energy Scholarship/Internship Program

AGL Resources is a leading natural gas company which serves 4.5 million customers across seven states. Our corporate headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The program will provide emergency scholarships for seniors. Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship

In 2010, the GFOA’s executive board voted to create the Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship to support the studies of part-time students with a career interest in state and local government finance. The Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship competition is for graduate students who have been admitted on a part-time basis to a graduate program in public administration, finance, business administration or a related field. Four scholarships of $7,000 each are available.

GFOA Internships

The Government Finance Officers Association invites highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to participate in our Research and Consulting Center’s internship program, focusing upon the following areas: financial management, budgeting, performance measurement, and information technology. The program is designed to provide graduate students an opportunity to complement their academic studies and interests with practical work experience on topics of concern to GFOA’s membership. Interns may work directly with governmental consulting clients, conduct research on government financial management topics and/or write articles or chapters for GFOA publications. Internships are typically for one full semester (approximately 10-12 weeks). Individuals interested in a longer internship should inquire about opportunities. Applicants should have excellent research, writing, analytic, and computer and interpersonal skills. Established in 1906, the GFOA is the leading organization serving the needs of state, provincial, and local government finance practitioners in the United States and Canada. The GFOA specializes in enhancing and promoting the professional management of governments for the public benefit. To accomplish this mission, the Research and Consulting Center provides high quality research and advisory services as well as publications and reports that advance the practice of public sector financial management. Goldman Sachs/Matsuo Takabuki Commemorative Scholarship

 Be a graduate student pursuing business or financial services related fields  Preference given to applicants demonstrating financial need  State of Hawai`i resident  Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) General criteria: • Must be a classified graduate student • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program, unless specifically noted • Full-time status, unless specifically noted • Demonstrate interest in Hawaiian language, culture, history • Demonstrate a commitment to contribute to the greater community.

Business, Economics and Public Policy Scholarships

The Foundation focuses on Public Policy majors in order to foster leadership in public policy analysis and public management to promote effective public policy decisions on national and international issues. Public policy incorporates social, economic and political components of government decision making. With a degree in Public Policy and Administration, students can make decisions and influence policy that affects an organization, a community, a whole state or the entire nation. We believe that a strong understanding in policy analysis is crucial in order to design and carry out policies that positively impact the 21st century global economy. The scholarships support majors that educate students in the importance of the role of economic and political factors in public decision-making and policy formulation; microeconomic analysis of policy issues; resource allocation and decision modeling; cost/benefit analysis; statistical methods; and applications to specific public policy topics.
