Engineering Technologies Scholarships

Over $1,700,000 in tuition scholarships are being offered in both degree and diploma programs to Florida high school graduates. These scholarships are available in such diverse specialties as business administration, electronic engineering technology, drafting and computer assisted design, secretarial, fashion merchandising and design, accounting, cartooning/illustration, court reporting, professional mariner, culinary arts, hospitality management, private investigation, nail and skin care technology, respiratory therapy technician, travel and tourism, cosmetology, video film production and recording arts, automotive service technology, photography, industrial design technology, music and video business, allied health administration, air conditioning and refrigeration technology, paralegal studies, interior design, therapeutic massage, rescue and advanced open water diving, cardiovascular technologist, visual communication, medical or dental assisting and other business, health care and technical/career fields.

1. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in either a four-year college or a two-year technical program. 2. Applicants must be graduates of public or private high schools. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include but is not limited to plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. 3. An applicant must be in good academic standing with his or her college. 4. Financial need of applicant will be considered.

The purpose for this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those individuals interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering. Eligibility The Airgas - Terry Jarvis Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a minimum four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering (WE) or welding engineering technology (WET); however, priority will be given to welding engineering (WE) students interested in pursuing a career with an industrial gas or welding equipment distributor. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements. Applicant must be a minimum of eighteen years of age. Applicant must have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Applicant must be a full-time student as defined by the academic institution. Applicant must have at least a 2.8 overall grade point average with a 3.0 grade point average in engineering courses. Financial need is not required; however, priority will be given to those individuals demonstrating a financial need. Priority will be given to those individuals who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career with an industrial gas or welding equipment distributor by prior work experience, clubs, organizations or extra-curricular activities. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States or Canada and plan to attend an academic institution located within the United States or Canada. Applicant must submit all required application information. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Alabama, Georgia or Florida. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specified area for a minimum of one year.) he ASDSO Scholarship Program, established in 1992, awards annual undergraduate scholarships to U.S. citizens enrolled in accredited programs in engineering or related fields and planning careers related to the design, construction, or operation of dams. Scholarships have ranged from $5,000 to $10,000 in recent years. Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level during the following year's academic term in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO, and must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction and operation of dams. Minimum Criteria Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for the first three years of college and be recommended by their academic advisor. The American Society For Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Scholarship is dedicated to encourage students to pursue education in the areas of geospatial science or technology associated with remote sensing, photogrammetry, surveying and mapping. The applicant is required to be enrolled or anticipating to enroll in a United States university or institution in the field of geospatical science, surveying and mapping, or a related field. Purpose * The purpose of the award is to reward top quality research and publication by young students (under age 35 as of the application deadline) at master’s or doctoral level and to encourage researchers to use the ASPRS annual conference as a vehicle to publish and present their findings.Eligibility * Eligibility for this award is limited to papers describing civil (non-military) applications of photogrammetry or remote sensing. * The applicant must be a student enrolled in a masters or doctoral program at a recognized institution of higher education chartered to award higher degrees. * The applicant must be the principal author of a paper accepted for publication in the proceedings of the ASPRS annual conference. Such papers may have multiple authors, but only the principal author may apply. * The applicant must be a current student member of ASPRS.Award * The award consists of a certificate and a grant of $2,000, equally divided among the recipients if more than one is selected. This amount can be varied at the request of BAE Systems. * Selected paper(s) will be published in Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (PE&RS), the official journal of ASPRS. * The award is presented by the ASPRS Foundation with funding provided by BAE Systems.Application * The applicant must submit an abstract for consideration for presentation at the ASPRS annual conference on or before the published deadline of the Call for Papers. * Once the abstract is accepted for presentation, the applicant must submit the full paper for publication in the ASPRS conference proceedings, together with the Application Form for the BAE Systems Award. This is the only award with an alternate deadline for application submittal. * Application consists of the standard Application Form and a signed statement from the applicant’s faculty advisor that the applicant is a student working on the stated degree and that the published paper is primarily the work of the student. Applicants who have made only minor contributions to the work, for example, when it is primarily the work of their professor or research supervisor, are not eligible for the award.References and transcripts are not required.Award Selection * The selection committee will review applications for eligibility and will judge the submitted papers of eligible applicants, taking into account the significance of the research or innovation, the quality of scientific writing and other criteria that the panel may see fit to include. * The selected applicant must agree to personally present the paper at the Annual Conference.
