This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who attends a US university/college located Texas. Applicants must meet general FEA scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their application forms. This scholarship is made possible by the generous support and fundraising efforts of international educators working in Texas. Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the U.S. Must be applying for a study abroad program eligible for credit at the student’s educational institution Must plan to study abroad for a minimum of 4 weeks in country Is committed to supporting education abroad in his/her campus community through work with the FEA and his/her campus education abroad staff upon return Preferences: Applying to a study abroad program known for its academic rigor and immersion elements Applying to a study abroad program that includes studying the language of the host country (if not English) Applying to a study abroad program with a sustainable service-learning or volunteering component Applying to a study abroad program in a non-traditional destination Demonstrates financial need FEA strongly encourages students to apply who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in education abroad Groups typically underrepresented in study abroad include, but are not limited to: Minorities First-generation college students STEM majors Community college students Students with disabilities

The WIA Foundation is pleased to provide scholarships to women interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering, math or science. One or more awards will be given each year to a rising senior in college, to be applied during the upcoming academic year. To be eligible for the WIA Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must be interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace field and be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math or science. An applicant must have completed at least two and a half academic years of full-time college work at the time of application and must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or its territories, and plan to be enrolled in the subsequent academic year. Each applicant must have a college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must be female of any nationality.

Purpose: To support remote sensing education and stimulate the development of applications of high-resolution digital satellite imagery for applied research by undergraduate or graduate students. Eligibility: Full time undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited college or university in the USA or Canada with image processing facilities appropriate for conducting the proposed work. Student member of ASPRS Award: A grant of satellite imagery data up to 500 square kilometers (potential value of up to $20,000), and a certificate inscribed with the recipient’s name. This award is presented by the ASPRS Foundation, with funding provided by The DigitalGlobe Foundation. DigitalGlobe will consider additional recipients per year based on the selection committee’s recommendation of an additional candidate’s merit. Award Parameters: Level of Imagery The 500 square kilometers will be limited IKONOS and GeoEye-1 imagery from the DigitalGlobe archive and can be the following product types: IKONOS (1M Panchromatic, 4M Multispectral, or 1M Pansharpenend Multispectral) Geo Geo Stereo (US only) GeoProfessional (Ortho, US only) GeoEye-1 (0.50-meter Panchromatic, 2-meter Multispectral, or 0.50-meter Pansharpenend Multispectral) Geo Geo Stereo (US only) GeoProfessional (Ortho, US only)

Purpose: The purpose of the award is to facilitate graduate-level studies and career goals adjudged to address new and innovative uses of signal processing, image processing techniques, and the application of photogrammetry to real-world techniques within the earth imaging industry. This award is presented by a grant from the ASPRS Foundation on behalf of corporate contributions to the Foundation by Z/I Imaging, a technology company that provides innovative solutions to the earth imaging industry. Eligibility: The award is restricted to members of ASPRS. It is intended for a student who is currently pursuing graduate-level studies or who plans to enroll for graduate studies in a recognized college or university in the United States or elsewhere. Award: The award consists of a one-year Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 and a certificate. Application: In addition to the application form and official transcripts, applicants must submit the following items: A 2-page statement detailing applicant’s educational and career plans for continuing studies in photogrammetric applications. Two completed letters of reference from faculty members who have knowledge of the applicant’s capabilities. Technical papers, research reports, or other pertinent items produced by the applicant and indicating capabilities in this field may be submitted with the application, but are not required. Award Selection: The Z/I Imaging Scholarship selection committee will evaluate each application and apply equal weight to each of the items listed above. The applicant who, in the opinion of the majority of the committee, has the highest overall ranking will be designated as the recipient.

The Mining & Exploration (M&E) Division of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration annually awards scholarships to promising college students who have chosen as a career path the field of mining engineering. Applicants must be majoring in mining, geology or other field of specialization covered by the M&E Division’s technical unit committees (Environmental Control & Reclamation, Geochemistry, Geology, Geomechanics, Geophysics, Hydrology, Open Pit Mining, Operations Research, Solution Mining, Underground Mining and Underground Ventilation). The Eugene P. Pfleider Memorial Scholarship is administered by the Mining & Exploration Division and is awarded on an annual basis to students pursuing careers in mining engineering. Eligible students may submit one application in consideration for both of these scholarships. See the scholarship guidelines for more information. Applicant Qualifications: M&E/Pfleider Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. 2. Be an SME student member in good standing. 3. Attend a school that is ABET accredited and/or has an SME student chapter. 4. Demonstrate a desire for and a probability of success in a career in the mining/minerals industry. Copy of most recent transcript (unofficial transcripts are OK). 6. Anticipated expenses/income for the current academic year.

Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students in their sophomore or junior years, who are majoring in metallurgical and/or materials science and engineering with an emphasis on manufacturing from product design to production, integrating process control technology into manufacturing, and basic and applied research into key materials technologies that impact manufacturing processes. Additionally, each recipient receives up to $500 for travel expenses to attend the meeting and luncheon to accept the award. Recipients are known as MPMD Scholars. ELIGIBILITY AND JUDGING REQUIREMENTS The applicant must be a student member of Material Advantage. Applicants must be undergraduate sophomores or junior unless otherwise noted. Applicants must be enrolled full time in a metallurgical/materials science engineering program at a qualified college or university. Relatives of members of the funding committee/division are not eligible. Submitted coursework must be relevant to the scholarship for which the student is applying. Judging Criteria: Scholarship recipients are chosen by specially appointed selection committees. On an annual basis, the Women's Auxiliary to AIME (WAAIME) Scholarship fund provides scholarships to students pursuing degrees in the earth sciences as related to the minerals field. Fields recognized by WAAIME may include mining, geological sciences, metallurgy, petroleum, mineral sciences, materials science and engineering, mining economics, chemical engineering, and other related studies. The number and amount of scholarships awarded yearly shall be dictated by the funds available and by the financial needs of the applicants. Students are eligible to receive a maximum of two years of funding from WAAIME. The two years may be two undergraduate years, two graduate years, or one undergraduate year and one graduate year. Should extenuating circumstances occur, the student’s sponsoring section’s scholarship chair may recommend that the WAAIME Executive Committee approve a third year of funding for a student. Students wishing to receive funding must reapply annually. WAAIME Scholarship applicants must be attending accredited colleges or universities within the United States. The list of schools accredited by ABET, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, shall be used as a general guideline. There are no requirements regarding age, sex, citizenship, race or religion. Candidates may first apply in their second year of study. Preference will be given first to those needing aid for their final year and secondly to those requiring aid for their junior year. Undergraduate assistance will have priority over graduate work. All candidates must be full-time students and must maintain full-time status to receive WAAIME assistance.
