Here are some of the Engineering scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.
National Aviation Explorer Scholarships
National Aviation Exploring Committee awards General Aviation scholarships to recognize excellence among Aviation Explorers studying the technologies and the skills needed in the field of aviation. The sponsors that provide the scholarships are committed to aviation’s future leadership.
Applicant’s description of their personal record should show that they can successfully complete the aviation career educational activity for which they are requesting the scholarship. Also their personal record should show their involvement in life skills, citizenship, leadership, and character education experiences that add to the quality of life.
Deadlines:
Aviation Explorer applications are due in the local council office for approval by March 31st of each year.
Council approved aviation Explorer applications are due in the National LFL Office by May 1st of each year.
Scholarships will be awarded each year by July 1st
Qualifications
1. Currently registered and active in an aviation Explorer post
2. Parent or guardian approval if under 18 years of age
3. Three letters of recommendation (i.e. aviation post Advisor, aviation professional, teacher, employer, community leader, etc.)
4. 500 word educational plan showing how you are going to finance your goal for a career in aviation.
Degree Leading to an Aviation Profession (Scholarship value $10,000)
Awarded to an Aviation Explorer accepted or attending an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree leading to an aviation profession. Provide a copy of your high school or college transcript.
Avionics (Scholarship value $3,000)
Awarded to an Aviation Explorer high school seniors or college students who plan to or are attending an accredited school in an avionics repair program.
Pilot (Pilot Certificate) (Scholarship value $3,000)
Awarded to an Aviation Explorer pursuing their recreational or private pilot certificate (any type aircraft) and are not restricted to those pursuing a career in aviation. Flight training must be completed within one year. Candidates are judged on the strength of their essay stating their plan for a career in aviation, evidence of satisfactory initial flight training, and performance history in
education and/or work, volunteerism, financial need.
Maintenance (Scholarship value $3,000)
Awarded to an Aviation Explorer high school seniors or college students who plan to or are attending an accredited school in an aircraft repair program.
Management (Scholarship value $3,000)
Awarded to an Aviation Explorer student in an aviation management program (to include design, engineering, airport management, etc.) at an accredited college or university.
Richard Schroeck Hospitality Engineer Scholarship
This scholarship is intended specifically for hourly hospitality engineers and maintenance personnel, as well as their dependents. More specifically for hourly hospitality engineers and maintenance personnel who are employed in lodging establishments which are members in good standing of the California Hotel & Lodging Association. It does so by providing scholarships to those employees or their dependents who have demonstrated a desire to either make engineering/maintenance or the lodging industry a career, and who have applied to or are enrolled in either a two or four year college or program related to facility engineering and/or operating maintenance. (These programs can include courses such as refrigeration or electrical maintenance, for example, and they do not have to be of any minimum length.)All applications must be filled out properly and the correct documentation. All applicants must be a California resident. All scholarships are self-nominated. An interview will be required (either in person or by phone). Must have graduated from high school with a 2.7 or better GPA (based on the four point system). Or industry experience for Richard Schroeck Scholarship . Each scholarship is for one academic year. They may be renewed by re-application. For transfer or university students, the scholarship will be activated after the first completed semester. All scholarships are merit based, however, if two candidates are otherwise equally qualified, preference may be given to applicants demonstrating a financial need. Failure to meet all requirements may cause the CH&LA Education Foundation to revoke a scholarship and/or be repaid by the recipient.
NAWIC Chapter #96 Scholarship-Construction
Description:Established to provide financial assistance to students in Delaware who are interested in preparing for a career in construction. Eligibility:This program is open to Delaware residents who are interested in working full time on an associate or bachelor’s degree in a construction-related program, including engineering. Applicants may be high school seniors, high school graduates, or currently-enrolled college students. Selection is based on grade point average, interest in construction, extracurricular activities, employment experience, academic advisor evaluation, and financial need.
Kathy Schenking Scholarship
For high school seniors who are going on for further education. For students who plan to major in Education or Engineering.Students are urged to visit their high school counselor to find out about this opportunity.School: Coldwater High School
Bill Martin Scholarship Fund
The Bill Martin Scholarship Fund was established in September 2002 to honor and memorialize Bill Martin, who passed away on August 7, 2002, after serving a distinguished career in the water environment profession. This scholarship was created to encourage students who wish to pursue higher education in the water environment field by providing a scholarship at his/her college or university.This scholarship is for high school students, enrolling in a 2- or 4-year college or university for study related to the water environment profession. Applicant must be a high school senior from Colorado, Wyoming or New Mexico in good standing, who has applied to a college or university with the interest of pursuing an environmental career. The student winner must show proof of enrollment in the environmental related program at the college or university for fall to receive a scholarship check. * Amount of and number of Martin awards to be determined by the RMWEA on a yearly basis
SSPI Scholarship Program
The SSPI Scholarship Program assists deserving high school and university graduates with meeting the high costs of undergraduate and post-graduate study in satellite-related disciplines. Through the generosity of Scholarship Sponsors, SSPI provides scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $3,500 to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students from locations around the world.Applicants must be current high school seniors, college or university undergraduate students or graduate students who are studying or intend to study satellite-related technologies, policies or applications. Successful scholarship applications have been received from students pursuing studies in these areas related to telecommunications, remote sensing, imaging, space law, business, distance learning, meteorology, energy, navigation, business, government, and broadcasting.Qualifications * Commitment to pursue education and career opportunities in the satellite industry or a field making direct use of satellite technology * Academic and leadership achievement * Potential for significant contribution to the satellite communications industry * A scientific, engineering, research, business or creative submission meeting high standards * Must be matriculated or accepted in an accredited college or university program at the time of the scholarship issuance.General scholarship requirements are: * Must be an SSPI Member to apply (Membership is free for fulltime students). * Must be pursuing studies related to satellites or the satellite communications industry. * Most scholarships give consideration for financial need.
Women Soar Scholarship for Innovation
Dr. Lori M. Fussell and Jerry Fussell are offering a $1,000 scholarship for the selected candidate’s pursuit of a college degree with the goal of empowering women to help solve the technology problems of the future through access to education in the sciences, engineering or aviation. The funds may only be used for academic pursuit and will be awarded directly to the candidate’s school of choice to support tuition expenses or other costs of attendance. The formal scholarship award will be made as part of the Women Soar award ceremony.Selection criteria: Applicant must be a high school junior or senior at the time of the award. Applicants will submit a fact-based technical paper of at least 1,500 words on the subject of the environmental impact of aviation, summarizing the current issue and impact and discuss potential technological solutions to reduce the impact on the environment. (60% of evaluation). Applicants will also provide a brief synopsis of their current accomplishments at the high school level, including GPA for two years, major focus of studies and description of extra-curricular activities. (20% of evaluation). Applicants will also provide a written description of their plans for the future, highlighting colleges of interest, professional aspirations following graduation, and their specific focus and passion for becoming one of society’s innovators. Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program
JSHS is designed to challenge and engage students (Grades 9-12) in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). Individual students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research efforts before a panel of judges and an audience of their peers. Opportunities for hands-on workshops, panel discussions, career exploration, research lab visits and networking are planned. By participating in regional and national symposia, students may... * Participate in a forum honoring individual achievement in STEM * Qualify for significant scholarships and other recognition * Network to enrich understanding of STEM pursuits beyond high school; * Advance in statewide, regional, national and international symposia * Develop skills to help prepare for undergraduate and graduate pursuits -- skills in the application of science content to solve a problem or to gain new knowledge, writing a paper, and communicating results.JSHS is sponsored by the research arm of the Department of Defense and administered in cooperation with nationwide colleges and universities. JSHS aims to prepare and support students to contribute as future scientists and engineers -- conducting STEM research on behalf of or directly for the Department of Defense, the Federal research laboratories, or for the greater good in advancing the nation's scientific and technological progress.
SAE Women Engineers Committee Scholarship
Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * Female. * 3.0 grade point average. * Accepted into an ABET accredited engineering program. Terms of Scholarship:One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded for the freshman year only.How to Apply: * Begin the application process online. * If you are qualified, you will be prompted to continue the process and submit the following: o Official copy of your high school transcript o SAT/ACT scores * All information must be submitted by January 15. Selection and Announcement of Recipient: * Recipient will be selected by the SAE Scholarship Committee and notified by the end of June. * Applicants not selected will be notified by the end of July. Payment of Scholarship Funds: * This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August. * It can be used for tuition or any other incidental school expenses. Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: This scholarship is not renewable.
MC / SAE Donald D. Dawson Technical Scholarship
Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * 3.25 grade point average. * SAT I math 600 or above and critical reading 550 or above and/or an ACT composite score 27 or above. * Pursue an engineering degree through an ABET accredited program. * Students transferring from accredited four-year colleges/universities must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average. * Students transferring from post-secondary technical/vocational schools must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average and meet all other requirements of the engineering program to which they apply. Terms of Scholarship: * One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,500 per year. * Scholarship may be renewed at $1,500 a year for three additional years (total award $6,000). How to Apply: * Begin the application process online. * If you are qualified, you will be prompted to continue the process and submit the following: o Official copy of your college transcript and high school transcript o SAT/ACT scores o An essay which demonstrates evidence of hands-on automotive experience or activity (e.g., rebuilding engines, working on cars/trucks, etc.). * All in information must be submitted by January 15. Selection and Announcement of Recipient: * Recipient will be selected by the SAE Scholarship Committee and notified by the end of June. * Applicants not selected will be notified by the end of July. Payment of Scholarship Funds: * This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August. * It can be used for tuition or any other incidental school expenses. Terms for Renewal of Scholarship: May be renewed for $1,500 per year for three additional years. * Must maintain a 3.0 grade point average. * Must continue enrollment in engineering. * Complete the TMC/SAE Donald D. Dawson Technical Scholarship renewal form.
Tau Beta Pi / SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * 3.75 grade point average * Rank in the 90th percentile in both math and critical reading for SAT I scores or for composite ACT scores. * Pursuing an engineering degree accredited by ABET. Terms of Scholarship:Six scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded for the freshman year only.How to Apply: * Begin the application process online. * If you are qualified, you will be prompted to continue the process and submit the following: o Official copy of your high school transcript o SAT/ACT scores * All information must be submitted by January 15. Selection and Announcement of Recipients: * Recipient will be selected by the SAE Scholarship Committee and notified by the end of June. * Applicants not selected will be notified by the end of July. Edward D. Hendrickson / SAE Engineering Scholarship
Student Eligibility Requirements: * U.S. citizenship (not permanent resident). * 3.75 grade point average. * Rank in the 90th percentile in both math and critical reading on SAT I or composite ACT scores. * Pursue an engineering degree accredited by ABET.
