Engineering Scholarships

Here are some of the Engineering scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Special Excellence Annual Scholarships

Purpose: Merit scholarships for exceptional academic and community service experience, offered as encouragement to students to attend outstanding colleges and universities in the United States. Eligibility: Original enrollees of CIRI and their direct lineal descendants. Should have a cumulative 3.7 GPA or better. Amount: $20,000, annual. Duration: One academic year (includes two semesters). Special features: Must be accepted or enrolled full-time in a 4-year undergraduate or graduate degree program with preference given in the fields of business, education, math, sciences, health services, and engineering. Special Excellence Scholarships may or may not be given at the discretion of the Education Awards Committee.

Cap Lathrop Endowment Scholarship Fund

Established in 1997 by A.G. Hiebert, GCI and other private donors. The Cap Lathrop Broadcast and Telecommunications Scholarship is for eligible Alaska Native original enrollees/descendants to an ANCSA regional or village corporation. Preference is given to Native original enrollees/descendants of Cook Inlet Region, Inc. An applicant must be a declared major in broadcast, telecommunications, business, engineering, journalism, or other media related degree programs to be considered.

Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo Scholarships

Eligibility: Scholarships are restricted to current residents of the eight counties of Western New York. Students must have been admitted to a nonprofit [501(c)(3)], U.S. Department of Education accredited school in the United States for full-time study at the undergraduate level. Applicants who permanently relocate outside Western New York are no longer eligible for funding. Students who attend college outside Western New York remain eligible if they maintain a permanent residence in Western New York. In addition, Pell eligible applicants will be given strong preference in the award decision process. A limited number of scholarships are available for graduate students in specialized fields (architecture, arts, engineering, medicine, nursing, piano, environment, and wildlife). Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship

For over 30 years, the Georgia Engineering Foundation has sponsored a program that awards college scholarships to worthy Georgia students who are preparing for a career in engineering or engineering technology. Since 1985, over 600 students have been awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. nAll scholarships are competitively awarded based on the student’s demonstrated competence in academics, interest in developing a career in engineering, financial need, and school and community involvement. Eligibility Requirements To be eligible, a student must be interested in a career in engineering and: 1) A U. S. Citizen; 2) A resident of Georgia; and 3) Enrolled in an engineering or engineering technology ABET-accredited program leading to a B.S., or graduate degree.

Council of Energy Scholarships

1. Undergraduates must have completed CERT's 8-week college preparatory program for high school seniors to be eligible for scholarship. 2. Any accredited college or university. 3. GPA: Above a 2.5 average. Required field of study: Engineering, science, business or related fields for scholarships and internships.

Hubertus W.V. Willems Schp for Male Students

1. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following fields: a. Engineering b. Chemistry c. Physics d. Mathematical Sciences 2. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and be applying to or accepted at an accredited college (excluding proprietary schools) in the United States. 3. NAACP membership and participation is highly desirable. 4. Undergraduate applicant must be a full-time student. If a student drops below the required full-time status, the Scholarship Selection Committee will adjust the grant received to 50% of the award allocated for that semester. Graduate applicant may be a full or part-time student. 5. Applicant must possess a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 (C+) on a 4.0 system. 6. Graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students must possess a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 system, or a B average on a 4.0 system. 7. Applicant must demonstrate financial need as based on the following scale: 8. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committee, NAACP Scholarship Selection Commitee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity, are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship.

Max J. Fowler Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to help people of all ages to complete a four year degree who are accepted and enrolled at NC State University in the College of Physical & Mathematical Sciences or Engineering. The applicant must be a resident of Gaston or Cleveland counties. Criteria for selection includes: community service, school performance, class ranking, interest in the arts and financial need.

U. of Evansville/John R.Tooley/SAE Engineering Sch

Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen accepted into UE's School of Engineering. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities. A minimum 1200 SAT or 27 ACT, and 3.5 high school grade point average is required. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year. These scholarships are renewable for an additional three years if a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is maintained.

Paper Science & Engineering Scholarships

1. Be a high school senior or college transfer who ranks (or ranked) in the upper one/fourth of your high school class, or be otherwise recommended by your high school principal. 2. Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or sponsored by a member of the Washington Pulp and Paper Foundation. 3. Have at least a 3.0 college or 3.5 high school grade point average (as computed on a 4.0 scale). 4. Minimum SAT Verbal score of 500 and SAT Math score of 550. 5. Must attend or plan to attend the University of Washington and major in Paper Science and Engineering.

General Scholarships

1. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in either a four-year college or a two-year technical program. 2. Applicants must be graduates of public or private high schools. Criteria: 1. Applicants must have a demonstrated or expressed interest in the plastics industry. 2. Applicants must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include but is not limited to plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. 3. An applicant must be in good academic standing with his or her college. 4. Financial need of applicant will be considered.
