American Institute for Foreign Study Minority Scholarships

Amount: Full Program Cost The American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) awards one full scholarship plus three $2,000 grants each semester to African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Pacific Islanders. The awards offset fees and travel expenses at AIFS programs in select international universities (list available with application). Candidates must demonstrate financial need and show leadership potential and involvement in extra-curricular activities centered around multi-cultural and international issues. Preference is given to full academic year study. Type: Undergraduate Study International Study Eligibility Requirements: Class standing Freshman - Sophomore - Junior -Senior - Discipline/Area of Study: Arts/Humanities Natural Sciences Social/Behavioral Sciences Business Engineering Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Permanent Resident Other Visa Status Minimum GPA: 3.0 Have completed a minimum of 24 credits toward a degree when the program starts. African American, Asian American, Native American, Hispanic American, and Pacific Islander. Submission Requirements: Application Form Letters of Recommendation 1 Program app requires two, but seperately. Personal Essay 500-1,000 words describing your involvement in multicultural and/or international activities and how you expect to use what you gain from your study abroad experience.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship provides $7,500 per year for educational expenses to outstanding sophomores and juniors majoring in mathematics, sciences, and engineering. The purpose of the award is to encourage top students to pursue careers and advanced degrees in these fields. A UC Berkeley campus committee selects Berkeley

Bay Area SMACNA Scholarship Trust Fund

The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association Bay Area Chapter, has established up to twenty tuition scholarships of $5,000. The awards are open to all students, with preference given to sons/daughters of employees of a Bay Area SMACNA firm. The scholarships are to be used for tuition and books, and the recipient shall agree to be employed by a member firm during the summer months following the granting of the scholarship. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

This scholarship seeks to lower barriers to undergraduate study abroad by offering scholarships to students with financial need. Underrepresented students in study abroad programs are encouraged to apply. The award is for semester or academic year study abroad programs. Applicants must not be studying abroad in a country which is currently under a Travel Warning issued by the United States Department of State (please see http://travel.state.gov/travel_warnings.html.). Bowman Travel Grants

The Bowman Travel Grants provide assistance to students participating in educational programs in non-traditional destinations. Applicants must be undergraduate students participating in a study, work, or volunteer program in a designated country (a complete list is available at the foundation website), preferably where the student significantly interacts with the host population. Applicants should also demonstrate how the activity is related to their future academic and/or career interests. Applicants must be participating in a travel program sponsored by the grant foundation or a similar program at a member institution (UC Berkeley is a member.) Society of Women Engineers; Santa Clara Valley Section Scholarship

1) Engineering students must be enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering programs 2) Computer science students must be enrolled in CSAB-accredited programs or attend schools with ABET-accredited engineering programs. Association of California Water Agencies Scholarship Awards

Source: Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Eligibility: Must be California residents attending selected California schools. They should have completed their sophomore work and at the time of the award be full-time students in their junior or senior year. They must plan to attend school for the complete academic year. The award will be based not only on scholastic achievement, but also on the individual's commitment and motivation to his/her chosen vocation. Financial need will also be given due consideration. The recipient should demonstrate commitment to the field of water resources by pursuing a degree related to, or identified with, engineering, agricultural and/or urban water supply, environmental studies or public administration. Awards: $1,500 Application Procedures: The recipients will be selected by the ACWA Scholarship Committee upon receipt of a completed application form and at least two, but not more than three, recommendations for each candidate. National Debt Relief Scholarship

National Debt Relief will award 5 scholarships of $1,000 each to outstanding college students pursuing studies in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.

CNC Machines Manufacturing Scholarship

To be considered applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited, 2-year college or 4-year university. Only students earning a degree in manufacturing, engineering or related fields are eligible to apply.

DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst)

Promotes international academic relations and cooperation through a broad program of grants for research and graduate study in Germany. Certain grants in this program are affiliated with the Fulbright Program and administered by IIE. A variety of short-term and long-term awards is offered in humanities and social sciences, German language, German studies, natural sciences, and engineering. Students are expected to possess a good command of German. Stipends and benefits vary, as do application deadlines.

Orangesoft Women in Technology Scholarship Program

Orangesoft offers a scholarship dedicated to female college or university students pursuing STEM, or other technology-related studies and careers. Write an essay on one of the following topics: 01 What challenges do women in tech face? What solutions to these challenges can you propose and why? 02 Why does the IT-sphere need women, and what impact do you believe you could make in the industry? 03 How to inspire other women to choose a tech specialty?

Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship

Awarded once per renewal cycle. 1 @ $7,000 Renewable 5 yr. max. Open to Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior students. All Engineering majors. A few main eligibility points: Only women are eligible. You must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants). You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books and equivalent.
