Battle Creek Area EMS Scholarship

Persons who have a career or hope to have a career within emergency medical services and plan to work or volunteer in the EMS field within the greater Battle Creek area. How to Apply: These applications are available at the LifeCare Ambulance Office.

Charles W. Riley Fire and Emergency Medical Services Tuition Reimbursement Program

Who may apply: Active career or volunteer firefighters, ambulance or rescue squad members.How to apply: Complete and file a Charles W. Riley Fire and Emergency Medical Services Tuition Reimbursement application.When to apply: By July 1Eligible majors: Fire service technology and emergency medical technology.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSYou must be an active career or volunteer firefighter, ambulance or rescue squad member. You must serve a Maryland community while you take college courses and continue to serve for another year after you complete the courses. You must attend a Maryland institution and enroll in a degree or certificate program in either fire service technology or emergency medical technology. You must be a Maryland resident to apply for this program.AWARD AMOUNTYou will receive the actual dollar amount of tuition charges you have paid. Applicants must receive at least a grade of "C" or better in any course specifically required for program completion. The amount of the award may not exceed the equivalent annual tuition of a resident undergraduate student at the four-year public institution within the University System of Maryland, other than the University of Maryland University College and University of Maryland, Baltimore, with the highest annual expense for a full-time resident undergraduate. Room and board and mandatory or optional fees are not reimbursed. Funds may not be available to award all eligible students.RENEWING AN AWARDTo renew an award, you must maintain the satisfactory academic progress standards of the institution you attend and remain enrolled in an eligible program. You may reapply for the award each year.SERVICE OBLIGATIONYou must agree to serve a Maryland community as a career or volunteer firefighter or ambulance and rescue squad member while you take college courses. You must continue to serve for one year after you complete the courses. If you hold this scholarship with any other award requiring a service obligation, you must perform your service in consecutive years.

Herold and Retta Reuss Public Safety Scholarship

The Herold and Retta Reuss Public Safety Scholarship is awarded to one or more Marshall High School or Marshall Alternative High School graduates, previous recipients or Marshall area residents who are pursuing a career in the Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Services, or other related fields, such as but not limited to, Fireman, Policeman, Legal Secretary or Dispatcher. Qualifying applicants must demonstrate the drive and ability to be successful in pursuing a college education and/or a certification process in the fields aforementioned. Financial need may be a deciding factor. MinimumGPA not required.Students must complete the application for scholarships administered by the Marshall Community Foundation. Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

IMPORTANT DATES Applications Accepted: February 10, 2017 - January 29, 2018 Final Award Selection: March 15, 2018 Scholarship Awarded: Spring Quarter 2018 REQUIREMENTS The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicant must be a US citizen, at least 17 years of age, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would fulfill those goals. Recommended topics are included in the Personal Essay section. All applications must be received by January 29th, 2018. Finalists will be notified in February and must provide proof of enrollment and GPA (letters of acceptance, transcripts, etc.) before the scholarship recipient is selected. SELECTION Applications will be reviewed by a panel. The winner will be selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.

(including accredited two and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical and trade schools). • You’ll have to identify the specific secondary education program, college or certificate/degree option you want to get into, or for which you need funds. You may be looking to enroll or already enrolled in this secondary educational program. • You must be willing to work with Landau’s Scholarship Management team throughout the application and award process.
